"There is a vast difference between saying prayers and praying"
-Author Unknown

Have you ever talked to someone that wasn't listening or been in a conversation in which you missed every word? If so, you know that's not the type of communication you want in your prayer life. As the world presents greater challenges it becomes increasingly important that we pray with the power and the assurance of God's promise.

Join us this week and bring a friend as we discuss the fundamentals of prayer. Our goal is to approach the throne of grace with confidence, instead of hesitantly asking God, "can you hear me now???"

-Rev. Jonathan V. Newton

Modern Love - "Those Aren't Fighting Words, Dear" (The New York Times, July 31, 2009) LET'S say you have what you believe to be a healthy marriage. You're still friends and lovers after spending more than half of your lives together. The dreams you set out to achieve in your 20s - gazing into each other's eyes in candlelit city bistros when you were single and skinny - have for the most part come true . . .
