"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever!"
(Psalm 23:6)

Convenience store shelves are stockpiled with energy drinks that promise  to get us through the day; but the most energizing thing we can drink is the living water that comes from Jesus.  No matter how difficult the challenge, when we know Jesus, goodness and mercy shall follow . . . all the days of our lives!

Rev. Jonathan V. Newton
Minister to Young Adults

The renowned historian, Dr. John Hope Franklin, went home to the Lord on Wednesday, March 25th at Duke University Hospital. Among other things, Dr. Franklin was a survivor of the 1921 Tulsa Oklahoma Race Riot. He was ninety-four years old and left a legacy of scholarship and advocacy for civil rights. Please keep the family in prayer.

Dr. Franklin's book, "From Slavery to Freedom" is a classic account of history that remains relevant more than 60 years after being published. His scholarly  research is credited with helping Thurgood Marshall and the NAACP legal team win Brown v. Board of Education, the 1954 case that barred the doctrine of "separate but equal" in the nation's public schools." For more information  click here.
