Healthy Relationships (Part 2)
Whodini's classic, "Friends" speaks about the complexities of friendship. In our minds we understand the importance of friendship but deep down we wonder, who can we really trust? Who can we really believe? Who can we stand behind and who will stand behind us?
We had excellent teaching on friendships/relationships from Pastor Jo Ann at last Saturday's Prayer Brunch, but due to time we left a few good questions on the table.
Join us this Thursday as Reverends Tia Farmer, Karen Jackson, Phillip Jackson, Kanika Magee, Minister Akil Dickens, and others share their perspectives, insights and thoughts, as we continue the dialogue on Healthy Relationships.

 The Rejoice Choir is seeking Young Adults to participate in the Young Adult Season Choir. Commit to these seven weeks and your love for the Lord will be used to bless others, increase your faith, and fill you with new joy. Contact Lisa McNeil for more information or just stay for choir rehearsal after Thirsty Thursdays Bible Study.
 Saints on the Slopes: If you're interested in the (second annual) One Day Ski-Trip to White Tail Mountain please contact Sis. Erica White for more information. The ski trip in on Saturday, February 21st. We will depart the church at 7:00 am, returning at 7:30 p.m. Packages range from $50 - $78.
Any adventurous souls interested in a moderate five-mile hiking trip in Shenandoah National Park, VA? The hike takes place on Saturday, March 7th. Contact Sis. Nicole Sergeant or email the Young Adult Ministry for more information.
Sisters that are interested in attending the High Tea with Pastor Jo Ann Browning on Saturday, March 14th should purchase tickets from Dr. Karen LeShore or Sis. Courtney Arrington as soon as possible. Seating is limited.
Christmas in April: Be a blessing to a Senior Citizen (a "Jewel") in Prince George's County by participating in this home renovation program on Saturday, April 25th, starting at 8:00 a.m. Interested volunteers should contact Bro. Eugene Green.
 Want to Salsa? Lessons at Roda Movements (7003 Carroll Ave, Takoma
Park) are held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturdays. The cost is $15, but the owner is offering

"I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God." The Combined Usher Board is recruiting Young Adults to be doorkeepers in the House of Lord. The Potter's House is coordinating "Warm Nights" a church-based emergency shelter, from February 15th - 22nd in the Original Sanctuary. A supply drive for Warm Nights will be held February 1st - 14th. For more information or supply list contact Sis. Annell Williams.
It's time to "Relax, Relate, and Release" at the Comfort Ministry's 14th Annual Comfort & Healing Ministries Retreat; February 20th-21st at the Hyatt Resort and Spa, Cambridge, MD. The Lay Organization will host Journalist Gwen Ifill for a discussion of her new book "The Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama" on March 1st at 5:00 p.m. in the Main Sanctuary.
