There will be a rescheduled ministry meeting on January 22nd from 8:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. after Thirsty Thursdays Bible Study to review the Young Adult Season and the 2009 calendar. Although it's late, please attend if you can. Bring a friend, your ideas, and your love for the Lord!. If you have items for the agenda, email them to Rev. Jonathan Newton. Light refreshments will be served.

Please join us for a group tour of the Newseum at 1:00 p.m. (new time) on Saturday, January 24th. The cost is $20. If you are interested, please contact Sis. Holly Jones. We will meet infront of the Newseum at 1:00 p.m. for the group tour. We may also get something to eat after the tour.

Young Adult Season starts with a Prayer Brunch from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 14th at the Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spa. The program will feature an informal discussion on healthy relationships with our Pastors, Rev. Dr Grainger Browning, Jr., and Rev. Dr. Jo Ann Browning. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased in the Narthex after Sunday service.

"Young Adults: Spiritually Bold, Personally Balanced, and Eternally Blessed for Victory in Christ Jesus!" Young Adult Season, February 14th - March 29th, is almost here. Volunteers are still needed to staff committees in preparation for, and to assist with, the season. Interested volunteers can contact Sis. Stacy Bradner.

"I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God." The Combined Usher Board is recruiting Young Adults to be doorkeepers in the House of Lord. Young Adults Ushers serve on the 4th and 5th Sundays at 11:15, or any other time that is convenient. For more information contact Sis. Rose Kornegay.

The Single Parents Ministry will kick off 2009 "Celebrating the Power of One: One Parent, One Family, Serving One God," on Friday, January 16th at 7:00 p.m. at the Main Sanctuary. For more information, email the Single Parents Ministry

Ebenezer's own Minister Byron Cage and Minister Brent Jones have been nominated for Stellar Awards. Please keep them in prayer on January 17th as they travel to Nashville for this annual recognition of Gospel music.

Get ready for an Inaugural Praise Explosion on Sunday, January 18th at 6:00 p.m. in Ebenezer's Main Sanctuary. Actress Vivica Fox will host a star-studded concert featuring Yolanda Adams, Pastor Shirley Caesar, Marvin Sapp, Tye Tribbet and our very own Minister Byron Cage. Inauguration street closures and parking restrictions got you confused? Watch the Inauguration of President Barak Obama with the Family Church Serving the Family of God. Ebenezer will host an Inauguration Watch Service and Fellowship on Tuesday, January 20th. The service will be broadcast live on B.E.T.

Couples planning weddings in 2009, invest in your future with pre-marital counseling. The Winter 2009 Bone of My Bone Pre-Marital Institute begins on Saturday, January 24th from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. and last for eight weeks. The cost is $75. The Blessings and Love Marriage Ministry (B.A.L.M.) is hosting a private screening of the movie "Not Easily Broken" on Saturday, January 24th at 10:00 a.m. at the AMC Hoffman Theater. The Youth Ministry will host its "Live Your Life 4 GOD" Youth Revival, January 29th - 31st at 7:00 p.m. in the Main Sanctuary. On January 29th - 30th, Pastor Charles Jenkins of Fellowship Baptist Church will deliver the Word of God. Then on Saturday there will be a talent show hosted by Ebenezer's own Sean Sarvis.

High school students, register now for the 2009 Spring Black College Tour, April 5th-8th. Colleges include Spelman, Morehouse, Clark-Atlanta, Hampton, Virginia State, Johnson C. The Faith Forward Restoration Campaign is still accepting pledges and/or contributions. We are close to the final payment on the new carpets and pews but need your continued support.

The Institute for Responsible Citizenship is currently accepting applications for its Summer Leadership Program. The Institute provides African American male college students with networking opportunities, leadership development, and life-long mentorship. Applicants should be sophomores and must commit for two summers. The application deadline is January 15th. For more information click here.

"Yes God Did!" The Inaugural Praise Ball 2009, featuring Gospel Artist Tramaine Hawkins and Gospel Comedian A.J. Jamal, "The King of Clean," will be held on January 18th at 7:00 p.m. at the Grand Hyatt Washington. There will be inspirational music, Christian music, and Jazz with DJ Lovelace. The Thursday Network's "I EMPOWER" Scholarship Fund is accepting application from high school seniors in the D.C. Metropolitan area. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, demonstrate a commitment to community service, and be a graduating senior with plans to attend a four year college or university in the fall of 2009.
