"Well Done, My Good and Faithful Servant!" Matthew 25:21, NLT
After 75 years life, 54 years of marriage, and thousands of lives touched, the Lord called the Rev. Dr. William Robert Porter home to glory. Dr. Porter shared the joy, the wisdom, and the peace of God with everyone he encountered. Please keep the family in prayer.

I write to you with a mixture of sadness and joy to inform you that my
Daddy, Rev. Dr. William Robert Porter, passed away peacefully today at the
Pavilion at Washington Hospital Center. Daddy was 75 years old and
married to Momma for 54 years. We praise God for the opportunity to share
with him through scripture and song just prior to his passing.
Arrangements are pending and I will email everyone once everything is
finalized. Please feel free to pass the information along to those who
may not have email access. My family has asked that no flowers or plants
be sent, but if you wish to send a card to my mother, her information is:
Mrs. Doris A. Porter
[Redacted: Send cards to Mrs. Doris Porter c/o Ebenezer A.M.E. Church; 7707 Allentown Road, Fort Washington, MD 20744]
When I was a little girl, every picture taken of me had my father holding
my hand. My mother said he did that to keep me from getting away from
them (and getting in trouble).
During my last visit, Daddy reached over the hospital bedrail to hold my
hand (see picture). I told him that he was the greatest Daddy ever. He
smile and replied, "I Know" in the most comical voice. Yep, that's my
Daddy!
Those of you who know me understand that this is a tremendous loss, so
please forgive me for not calling and for not responding to phone calls
just yet. I need a little time, but will be in touch later.
"Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal."
Peace and Love,
Darian
