Young Adult Ministry header

There will be a Prayer and Planning Meeting on Sunday, December 7th at 3:00pm to organize the New Year's Eve After Party and Young Adult Season. We need creative, caring, and committed team players to implement the vision. Refreshments will be served, click here to use your gifts for the Lord's work in this ministry.

We have organized a supply drive for Crosslink International. Crosslink provides medical supplies to overseas missions (including our May 2008 South Africa trip) to help reduce suffering among the needy. For a list of needed items click here. Look for donation receptacles in the Narthex and Administrative areas.

The Young Adult Ministry will collect food, clothes and gifts for two needy families this holiday season. Family 1: mother and four children ages 5, 8, 10, and 12 (male pant sizes 9-10, 12-14, & 34-35, female pant 7-8); family 2: mother and two children ages 11 and 15 (male pant sizes 42/34 shirt 4XL; female pant 7, shirt L).

Join us on for a Christmas Potluck on December 11th after Thirsty Thursdays Bible Study in the Original Sanctuary Fellowship Hall. Prepare your specialty dish, try a new recipe, or just show up and we'll be happy to see you there. There will be good food and fun fellowship. For more information, email the Young Adult Ministry.

Any adventurous souls interested in a moderate five-mile hiking trip in Shenandoah National Park, VA? If so, please email The Young Adult Ministry so we can get a head count. We are considering dates in early December, but don't worry the exercise will keep you warm. (Note: There was an error in the email link last week. Sisters, join Pastor Jo Ann Browning for a Women's Prayer Vigil in support of the Annual Men's Conference on November 21st at 7:00 p.m. in the Main Sanctuary. Support Ebenezer's Men through the power of prayer so they will continue to be Restored, Renewed, and Revived.

The Mobile Homeless Ministry is sponsoring its Annual Winter Clothing Drive for homeless men and women from November 16th through December 20th. New or gently used items may be dropped off at the Main Sanctuary. For more information, contact Bro. Mark Blair at (202) 832-3935.

The 19th Annual Pigskin Jamboree and Financial Aid Workshop will be held on December 13th starting at 8:00 a.m.  This workshop is for college bound high school football players.  For more information, or to volunteer, click here.

Help a young lady transition into womanhood! Womanhood Rites of Passage is accepting applications from young women ages 12 - 18 who are ready to seek and explore God's purpose for their lives. For more information, or to become a mentor, call (301) 265-8253 or email Womanhood Rites of Passage.

Manhood Rites of Passage is accepting applications from young men ages 12 to 16 for the 2009 season. Participants will receive mentorship and guidance to help them become the strong African-American Christian men that God has called them to be. To request an application, click here.

S.T.O.M.P. (Step Team On a Mission to Praise) is recruiting young men ages 7-18 who are interested in joining the ministry. Practices are held on Tuesdays from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. in the Original Sanctuary. For more info. email Sis. Sharita Dunn.

Nyack College (DC) will host a book talk/signing by Associate Dean Patricia Johnson from her book "Journey Into God's Presence." Dr. Johnson will share spiritual and practical truths for being at peace while you're going thru! November 25th from 6:45 - 7:30 p.m.; RSVP here by November 21.

First Baptist Church of Alexandria (2932 King St., Alexandria) will present, "The Permanent Christmas Gift", December 11th - 14th at 7:30 p.m. each night.
