Ah...summertime!  I look forward to the slower pace during the months of July and August.  It is a wonderful season to regroup, rebalance, and rediscover...read a book just for fun; take a walk at dusk listening to the sounds surrounding you; try an ice cream flavor you have never tasted. What are your favorite ways to surrender completely to the moments as they pass?

Meditation Maintenance Sessions are a great way to give yourself a monthly self-care "tune-up" by joining with fellow meditators to discuss insights and challenges of your practice. You are welcome to attend each month or simply on an occasional basis. You will find a supportive and welcoming respite in the midst of your busyness. 
 
Summer 2010 Schedule
Evening sessions meet 7-9 PM 
  • Monday, July 12 
  • No August Session
 
Afternoon sessions meet 12:30-2:30 PM   
  • Friday, July 9
  • No August Session
 
 
FALL 2010 Schedule
Beginning in September, evening sessions will be held on the 2nd WEDNESDAY of each month.  Daytime sessions will remain on 2nd FRIDAY of each month.
 
Evening sessions meet 7-9 PM 
  • Wednesday, Sept 8
  • Wednesday, Oct 13
 
Afternoon sessions meet 12:30-2:30 PM 
  • Friday, Sept 10
  • Friday, Oct 8 
 
Both evening and daytime sessions are held at Stress Resources' office (97 Lowell Rd, Concord, MA). Please pre-register for sessions as space is limited. Meditation Maintenance sessions are $15 per session. Register by e-mail or by phone (978-369-5243).
 
 

Do You Have a Favorite Book?

 
seashellDo you have a book(s) that you find yourself reading and re-reading time and time again?  One of mine is Gift from the Sea by Anne Morrow Lindbergh.  Even though the words were written 55 years ago, they are timeless as they speak to the essence of mindfulness amidst our busy lives. I came upon an interview on NPR from 2006 with Anne Morrow Lindbergh's youngest daughter, Reeve, talking about her mother's life and her motivation for writing Gift from the SeaClick here to listen to the interview

Registration is OPEN for the Fall Group MBSR Program

Would you like to go back to "school" this fall?  Fall is a great time to make a commitment to learn new skills of resiliency through Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction.  mbsrStress Resources offers small group (15 students) 8 week classes in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). Most medical experts consider MBSR the gold standard of stress management training. The next group MBSR program begins in September.  Thursday evening classes, and Friday morning classes are offered.  Continuing education for healthcare professionals is included as an added bonus!

Individual MBSR Training

mbsrHave you been wanting to explore Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Training (MBSR) but find the group structure or timing do not meet your needs?  You may be interested in the Individual MBSR Training option that Stress Resources offers. 
 
Individual MBSR training covers the material offered in the group sessions and takes place over 8-12 weeks to allow for integration of learning.  Four individual sessions (one hour each) are scheduled at the participant's convenience with morning, afternoon and evening sessions available.  Additional training sessions may be added as needed.
