Greetings!
If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion. ~Dalai Lama
Seems too simple doesn't it? If you want others to be happy, practice compassion...If you want to be happy practice compassion. Throughout the ages we have heard variations on this theme, but all adages come back to compassion for self allows us to extend compassion to others. When our world seems so needy and fragile, when we are horrified by the destruction of natural disasters, it is even more important to realize the power of practicing compassion for self, so we can extend it to others who share the planet with us.
With compassion, Pam

Winter/Spring Meditation Maintenance |
|
Meditation Maintenance Sessions are a great way to give yourself a monthly self-care "tune-up" by joining with fellow meditators to discuss insights and challenges of your practice. You are welcome to attend each month or simply on an occasional basis. Sessions are held on the 2nd Monday and the 2nd Friday, of each month (September through July). You will find a supportive and welcoming respite in the midst of your busyness.
Winter/Spring 2010 Schedule
Evening sessions meet from 7-9 PM
Daytime sessions meet from 12:30-2:30 PM
Both evening and daytime sessions are held at Stress Resources' office (97 Lowell Rd, Concord, MA). Please pre-register for sessions as space is limited. Meditation Maintenance sessions are $15 per session. Register by e-mail or by phone (978-369-5243).
Since we are in the inclement weather season, a recording will be placed on Stress Resources' voice mail (978-369-5343) no later than 4 PM for evening sessions and no later than 10 AM for afternoon sessions if meditation maintenance is cancelled.

Go Red for Women and Men |

February is HEART month
Do you think you know about heart health risk factors? Take a few moments and take a look at these interesting statistics from the American Heart Association:
- Coronary Heart Disease is the single leading cause of death for both men and women in the United States.
- More women die of cardiovascular disease then the next five causes of death combined, including all forms of cancer.
- Men being treated for prostate cancer with androgen-deprivation therapy (ADT) may have an increased cardiovascular risk.
- While 1 in 30 American women die of breast cancer, 1 in 3 die from cardiovascular disease.
With knowledge comes power and the ability to make informed choices. The American Heart Association has launched a great interactive web site, HeartHub, to educate and empower all of us, men and women, to take control of our heart health. Make sure that stress management plays a role in your overall plan of action! If you are unsure how to do that, contact me for more information about stress management and heart health. |
