Greetings!

If you want others to be happy, practice compassion.  If you want to be happy, practice compassion.  ~Dalai Lama

Seems too simple doesn't it?  If you want others to be happy, practice compassion...If you want to be happy practice compassion.  Throughout the ages we have heard variations on this theme, but all adages come back to compassion for self allows us to extend compassion to others. When our world seems so needy and fragile, when we are horrified by the destruction of natural disasters, it is even more important to realize the power of practicing compassion for self, so we can extend it to others who share the planet with us.

With compassion,
Pam

Go Red for Women and Men
EKG heartFebruary is HEART month

Do you think you know about heart health risk factors? Take a few moments and take a look at these interesting statistics from the American Heart Association:
  • Coronary Heart Disease is the single leading cause of death for both men and women in the United States.
  • More women die of cardiovascular disease then the next five causes of death combined, including all forms of cancer.
  • Men being treated for prostate cancer with androgen-deprivation therapy (ADT) may have an increased cardiovascular risk.
  • While 1 in 30 American women die of breast cancer, 1 in 3 die from cardiovascular disease.

With knowledge comes power and the ability to make informed choices.  The American Heart Association has launched a great interactive web site,HeartHub, to educate and empower all of us, men and women, to take control of our heart health.  Make sure that stress management plays a role in your overall plan of action! If you are unsure how to do that, contact me for more information about stress management and heart health.
