July 2009
Greetings!

"Some people walk in the rain, others just get wet"  --Roger Miller

Yes, it really is summer.  Here in the northeast we have had an unusually cold and wet start to the summer season; challenging even the most non-judgmental, mindful folks to wish for a bit of warmth and sun!  In anticipation of vacation time, a page of tips for stress-Less vacations (back by popular demand from last year) has been added to the Stress Resources' website.  I have also highlighted some ideas for exploring mindfulness in nature this summer: locating walking labyrinths around the world and joining me on our annual mindfulness in nature workshop at Walden Pond in Concord in August. It is not too early to think about the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Program for Fall 2009, registration is now open.  May you find many opportunities to walk in the rain and the sun this month.
Take care,
Pam

Worldwide Labyrinth Locator
Kripalu LabyrinthLabyrinths are a wonderful way to engage in mindful walking meditation.  While traveling, we can often forget to take our meditation practice on the road.  I have found a very enjoyable way of maintaining my meditation practice while traveling by locating a walking labyrinth in the locale I am visiting.  This is easy to do by using the free online Worldwide Labyrinth Locator, a service of the Labyrinth Society and Veriditas.  Currently 3100 labyrinths in over 65 countries are listed on the locator.  Take a few photos of a labyrinth you walk this summer, and I will post them on the Stress Resources website in September.  Let's see how many labyrinths we can discover!
