I want to give you a heads up on what promises to be a wonderfully inspiring evening.  Thich Nhat Hanh, well-known Buddhist teacher, author, and peace activist will be visiting Boston and giving a public talk entitled: "Walking The Path of Love with Muddy Shoes".

No July or August  Drop In Sessions
 
In the spirit of shifting into "summer mode", the monthly drop-in meditation sessions will not be held during July and August.
 
The next regularly scheduled drop-in session, "Meditation Maintenance"
will be held on Wednesday, September 5, 7-9 PM at the Wright Tavern Center.

Greetings!

Ahhh, Summertime.....I hope this newsletter finds you shifting into "summer mode".  We can continue in our busy ways right through the months of July and August, or we can choose to make a shift in our everyday routine to a more relaxed summer mode. 
 
Did you know that the United States is one of the only developed countries that does not mandate employee vacation time?  With our 24/7 workplaces it is difficult to disconnect and take the time necessary to renew and recharge.  Studies indicate that those employees who do shift away from the workplace for vacation return with increased creativity and productivity. I have included some ideas for shifting into "summer mode" in this newsletter.  However the "summer mode" manifests in your life....remember to renew for you!
 
As always, I appreciate your comments, suggestions and topics for future newsletters and workshops. I am grateful to so many of you for spreading the word about Stress Resources by forwarding our newsletter to friends and colleagues.  Many thanks!

Mindfulness at Walden Workshop
pond Wednesday, August 29, 6-8 PM
 
Bring mindfulness into your summer at Walden Pond in Concord, Massachusetts.  Join other workshop participants in an experiential meditation in nature evening workshop at the pond Henry David Thoreau made famous in his treatise on mindfulness, Walden.  Pre-registration is required for this special workshop.

One of my most requested reprint pages is one I first published last year.  It is entitled, "Stress Less Vacation Tips".  I encourage you to try at least one or two items on the list to make your vacation a more mindful experience this year.
 
Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Program
meditation  Fall Registration Now Open
 
 Registration is now open for the fall sessions of Stress Resources' popular Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Program.  This program is based on the framework developed by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn at the UMass Medical School. 
 
Classes are held at the Wright Tavern Center in Concord, Massachusetts.  Monday (note this is a new offering!) evening or Friday morning sessions are available.  As an added bonus, continuing education credit is included for nurses and social workers.
