Holiday Greetings!
Last week, amid the holiday hustle and bustle, I had
an unexpected "gift" given to me, in the form of being
present at a keynote address delivered by Dr. Maya
Angelou. The "gift" was in her words...words of
great hope, optimism, courage, and gratitude.
Through the words of the spiritual "This Little Light of
Mine", Dr. Angelou spoke of her life journey, and those
who had been "lights" in her life; who had illuminated
the way for her through kindness, compassion,
activism, and presence. She also spoke of our ability
to keep our own lights burning while spreading light
for those around us.
What wise and empowering words, and so relevant
in these days of winter darkness. To keep our own
lights burning, however, we need to consciously
continue to nurture the flame with renewal of our inner
resources. It is especially hard to do that when we are
running on
empty. I encourage you to give yourself the
"gift" of
presence this holiday season -- taking time for self
renewal in whatever manner fuels your "light".
My best wishes for a holiday season filled with
gratitude for the many lights illuminating your
life,
Pam

Winter MBSR Program
|
The Winter Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction
Program will be starting in January 2007. This
program is based on Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn's model
developed at the UMass Medical School, and currently
the gold-standard for stress reduction programs at
academic medical centers in this country.
Stress Resources offers both evening and
morning
classes to meet the scheduling needs of a variety of
individuals. Classes meet for 2-hours once a week
for 8 weeks in Concord, MA. Groups range in age
from 18-90+ and
are open to men and women, health professionals,
individuals wanting to strengthen their inner
resources of resiliency for working with life transitions,
chronic illness, work/life balance, job stress, and
other stressors.
Classes are small, 15 students maximum, to allow for
individualized instruction. Continuing
education hours are
available
for nurses who participate in the program.
Registration is now underway for both the evening
session (beginning on January 30) and the morning
session (beginning on February 2). Click on the link

Stress Less Holidays
|
One of my most popular workshops over the past
month has been entitled: Stress Less
Holidays. If
you are looking for a workshop that teaches you how
to tie the perfect bow or how to make your own
"Buche de
Noel in 100 easy steps"....this is NOT the
workshop for
you! Rather, it is a workshop that explores how to take
back our time and sanity over the holiday season
without having to say "bah humbug " to it all.
The workshop participants have been unanimous in
their praise of the tips provided during the workshop
and suggested that they be posted on my website for
others to benefit. As you know, I listen to my
audiences.....click
on the link below to read "Stress Less Holiday
Tips".
Let me know which ones resonate with you!
