Greetings!
As I write this August newsletter, I am savoring the
exquisite days of sun, warmth and the slower pace of
summer activity. I hope you have found some
respite from schedule and routine during the summer,
too.
For those teens anticipating returning to a stress-
filled school year in September....perhaps there is
another way? The Tools for Teens Workshop
is a
great way to gain some NEW skills that might make
the coming school year less stress-filled than last
year. This popular workshop will be offered on
August 25 -- more details on the left.
The mind-body connection is continuing to receive
interest and endorsement from mainstream medicine
as an adjunct to comprehensive health care. An
indication of this is a recent initiative by Blue Cross
Blue Shield of Massachusetts entitled: Living
Healthy
Naturally. Their website is informative and easy
to
navigate. I am pleased to have been selected as a
recommended provider listed on their site.
For some late summer listening and meditation
practice, you may want to check out a new CD set
just released on Mindfulness for Beginners by
Jon
Kabat-Zinn. This is a wonderful explanation of
mindfulness and guided practice experience for
beginner and experienced meditators a like.
As always, I appreciate you suggestions, comments
and thoughts about the newsletter, programming or
topics of interest. Please forward this newsletter on
to friends or colleagues who may also be interested
in the work of Stress Resources.
Warmly,
Pam

NEW Mindfulness CD
|
A new CD by Jon Kabat-Zinn, entitled
Mindfulness
for Beginners was released in July. In
Mindfulness
for Beginners, Jon invites you to "cultivate
mindfulness as if your life depended on it, which it
surely does, and experience the magnitude and
beauty of who you already are".
The two-CD set includes an informative talk by Jon
and a practice CD with various mediations. I
highly recommend it both for experienced and
beginning meditators -- as Jon so ably and gently
leads us in exploring what mindfulness means to each
of us individually and collectively.
Mindfulness for Beginners may be
purchased at: soundstrue.com
or amazon.com
