Greetings!

Welcome to Springtime! Lots of opportunities this month to take time for yourself to recenter, reconnect, and renew.

The monthly Meditation Drop-In session will be held a week earlier than usual this month due to Easter and Passover. The April drop-in session will be held this Thursday, April 6. Check out the column on the left for more information.

The Spring sessions of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction are filling fast! Call or e-mail soon if you would like to register.

If you are interested in experiencing mindfulness in nature this spring, I am offering a workshop entitled Mindfulness at Walden on the morning of April 26. Come and enjoy the early spring at Thoreau's Walden.

Finally, an absolutely wonderful PBS documentary aired last week, entitled The New Medicine. If you weren't able to catch it, I have included a link and more information about the program in this newsletter.

As always, I am eager to hear your comments, suggestions, and ideas for workshops, retreats or programs. My goal is to assist you in making tools of self-care and stress management as accessible and relevant to your lives as possible.

Take care,

Pam

The New Medicine

A wonderful PBS documentary, The New Medicine, aired last week and will be rebroadcast on many PBS stations over the month of April. Many forms of integrative medicine are discussed in the two-hour program, along with interviews with national leaders in integrative medicine. One of the key points that I took away from the program was the important work that those of us in healthcare need to continue to do to return the human touch to high-tech care.

It was inspiring to witness the complex dynamics of healing and compassion both from the point of view of the patients and the caregivers. Whom is caring for whom is often blurry in the field of integrative medicine and healthcare. I encourage you to check out the website listed below for more information about The New Medicine.

Spring MBSR Registration

Mindfulness at Walden

I will be offering a morning workshop entitled: Mindfulness at Walden on Wednesday, April 26 from 9:30-11:30 AM. We will explore mindfulness through walking meditation, listening meditation, journaling, as well as sitting meditation following Henry David Thoreau's path to his cabin site and using some of Thoreau's quotes as springboards for our own meditations.

Fee for the workshop is $30 and preregistration is necessary prior to April 24. Wear comfortable walking shoes, and bring a towel or blanket to sit on.
