March 9 Drop-In

This month's drop-in will be in the form of a short vipassana or insight meditation retreat. We will be alternating periods of sitting and walking meditation with only a minimal amount of instruction.

Looking forward to seeing you on Thursday, March 9, from 7-9 P.M. at the Wright Tavern Center. The Wright Tavern Center is located at 2 Lexington Rd., Concord, next to First Parish Church.

Drop-in fee is $15 Pre-registration is not necessary, but appreciated.

Greetings!

As I write this month's newsletter, the wind still blows with winter's bite, yet the crocuses are beginning to show life through the remnants of snow -- a reminder that spring is around the corner! Welcome to March, a month of contradictions, positives and negatives, warm sunshine and bitter cold...a month that mirrors life!

Spring brings us opportunities to grow. I have highlighted some classes, workshops, and seminars that I know of in this newsletter and will let you know of others in future newsletters. I would also love to hear of any speakers, workshops, or activities that you have found particularly inspiring and renewing.

With renewal,

Pam

Spring MBSR Registration

Registration is now underway for the Spring session of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction beginning in April/May. I will again be offering both a Tuesday evening session, as well as a Friday morning session to accommodate flexible scheduling.

Classes will begin on April 25 for the Tuesday session and on May 5 for the Friday session. Classes meet weekly for 8-weeks and are based on Dr.Jon Kabat- Zinn's internationally recognized framework of MBSR. Classes are limited to 15 participants to allow for individual guidance.

I am pleased to be the only MBSR program offering MARN approved continuing education for nurse participants in the program (19.2 contact hours).

Cambridge Insight Meditation Center

Some great programs and events are scheduled at the Cambridge Insight Meditation Center over the next few months. To name just a few....an evening with Jon Kabat-Zinn, a two day workshop on Metta meditation, and an extra special event featuring Jack Kornfield -- an exceptional speaker, teacher, and author.

I am going to try to attend as many as possible. If you are interested in finding out more about the program offerings of the Cambridge Insight Meditation Center, click the link below.
