From the Pastor's Desk
Our Story
The dictionary defines "story" as "an account or recital of an event or a series of events". Everyone has a story. Each of us has a history. The pages and chapters of those stories are filled with things we have done, things we have not done, our hopes and dreams and expectations for ourselves and for those around us. There are motivations and incentives at play in these stories that call us to do what we have done and what we will do in the future. What is calling you in your story? An important part of our story is survival. We are pulled to make careers and earn livelihoods in order that we are able to support ourselves and our families. It is important that we are engaged in vocations that provide opportunities to be engaged in occupations which are meaningful and fulfilling. It is fulfilling to work hard and to enjoy the fruits of our labor. What we "do for a living" is an important part of our story. Maybe there is more to your story than earning a living. Maybe, just maybe, God is sending you to do God's work. You can still write these chapters in your story. The pen is in your hand. Where is God sending you? What is God sending you to do? Are you listening? And if you hear God calling you, do you say "Here I am Lord, send me!" I hope we all respond that way so that we can continue to write the chapters of our story in ways that are pleasing to God. If we do, the most exciting chapters are still ahead of us. In Christ's Service,
Pastor Pete
