Active & Healthy Summer at Hope Street
Bollywood and Zumba Keep Youth Center Dancing
We are grateful to the Ford Theatre Foundation Community Bridges Program for connecting our kids with professional dancers, who are teaching Bollywood dance classes for 10 weeks. In addition, our families have been invited to four dance concerts at the Ford Theatre, which include: Afro Cuban, Hawaiian, Jazz/Blues, and Brasil dance. This is an amazing opportunity for 60 children and family members to experience other cultures and enjoy healthy active fun as a family. We look forward to the final Bollywood performance for their parents at the end of the summer.
Thank you to Immanuel Presbyterian Church for sponsoring a Zumba teacher to lead two one-hour sessions on Mondays at Hope Street. The first at 4pm is for the Youth Center students and the second at 5pm is for community members. The room is full of laughter and energy. Join us next week before the summer fun ends! |

Summer Camp Gets Families Outdoors
40 Kids and Moms Spend a Week at Rowdy Ridge Camp

On July 9th, 11mothers and 29 school aged children eagerly boarded a bus for a weeklong camping trip at the Rowdy Ridge Gang Camp in the San Gabriel Mountains. This year several of our former campers are serving as camp counselors.
Thank you to the Scott Newman Center for offering these life-changing opportunities for our families! |

Hope Street Friends Giving Campaign
Come for Lunch at California Hospital on Friday August 3 & Help Build Our New Community Center
On August 3rd, CHMC Foundation will host the Hope Street Friends Giving Campaign Kick-off Event at 11:15am in Keck Hall. Immediately following, we invite you to visit the Fundraiser Food Truck from 12-1:30pm. A downtown favorite, fusion food truck Kogi will serve Korean BBQ/tofu tacos. Guests can purchase either a $10 or $20 meal ticket with drink (a portion of the ticket price supports the campaign) or make a straight donation to the campaign.
RSVP for the event here.
The Hope Street employee engagement committee has set a goal for the campaign at $100,000. We hope to exceed it. Come out and give your support! |
