Real Stories of Extraordinary People

Cesar & Elizabeth, Roberto, and Janet share in video and in person at the Circle of Hope Luncheon on Sept. 14th.

Hope Street Family Center is very proud to highlight the stories of Roberto Uribe, Elizabeth & Cesar Larios, and Janet Bonilla. To view their stories in their own words, to watch an 8 minute video created to honor their inspiring acheivments and the life-changing work of the Hope Street Family Center. At Hope Street, we believe that all the children and families are extraordinary, and our first fundraising event celebrated the great work Hope Street does every day.

Centerpieces were a huge success,

...raising over $6,000!

The Circle of Hope Luncheon was held to raise support for the children and families at Hope Street Family Center, and their own contribution--15 unique centerpieces made by Family Literacy parents (sampling pictured above) and after-school Youth Center students--helped us surpass our fundraising goal.  The after-school Youth Center children ages 6-18 spent an afternoon designing the layout of each vase, glueing tile pieces to the ceramic pots. Volunteers Eloise Appel and Lilith Borko (pictured above) filled in the mosaic designs with grout that brought together the Hope Street colors of gray and orange.  Mothers and fathers from the Family Literacy program created beautifully unique flowers -- some were painted, some were crocheted, but all were handmade. The centerpieces were arranged by the families that created them. Guest were invited to bid on the centerpieces, with the 15 lucky luck winners generating more than $6,000 to benefit Hope Street Family Center programs.
