We have all heard the phrase, "go with the flow" at times in our lives. I used to think I was pretty good at going with the flow, until I learned there is a deeper meaning to it. So what does "going with the flow" really mean and how do we apply this?
When something in our lives isn't working, meaning it isn't giving us the results we want, our first reaction may be to push harder. While there may be situations when this action is helpful, such as with study, school work or athletics, there are many other situations in which this action just wastes our time and energy.
We must trust in the flow, knowing it will carry us to where we need to be for our highest good and greatest joy. Therefore, in order to go with the flow, we must let go of resistance to it. Letting go of resistance to the flow may seem like relinquishing control. This action may seem fearful at first, but with time we will be shown that we can trust in the flow. The Universe and the Divine are behind this flow, and we will cultivate more trust in them as well. Synchronicities will unfold as we do, which will give us the support we need along the way. Overall, a sense of effortlessness will prevail which will bring us more peace and energy.
We must remember that we are meant to live our lives effortlessly. This doesn't mean that our lives should be without challenges. Challenges are often necessary to experience self-awareness and growth. If being stuck and not getting the results we want is the challenge, then we may need to redefine our goals in order to get back into the flow. Until we let go of any resistance to the flow, we are just fighting to paddle upstream.
Accept the flow and trust that it is good for you. The flow is always effortless and when we go with it, we experience the synchronicities we need to support us. Pay attention to the synchronicities, knowing they are going to bring you the results that are truly best for you in every way. Allow yourself to be carried by the flow with grace and ease, and watch the magic unfold! |
