In accordance with manifesting our heart's desires, we must first clear out anything in the way of receiving. This often includes the sometimes arduous task of letting go of the old - whether it is a relationship, career, or even an attitude that is no longer serving you - to make room for the new.
Many of us desire the new and are willing to take the step in letting go. To truly do that we must first dig deep and face our fear of releasing the old. This fear of releasing the old is born from the ego. Our ego makes us believe the old provides us security and comfort - even if it is a situation that is unhealthy for us or one which we have outgrown. Patterns, conditioning, and beliefs are all part of the old, too. Releasing all of the old means facing your fear of leaving the "known" behind so you may courageously step into the "unknown".
The ego holds the fear of letting go. Therefore, before you can face your fear, the ego must first be surrendered. By surrendering the ego, your fear is then able to naturally rise up into consciousness. From here, your fear along with all of the old can be released and replaced with courage, strength, and even joyful anticipation of the new. The "unknown" then becomes an exciting adventure waiting for us to embark upon.
Real security and comfort come from who we really are. When we surrender the ego and all that it holds, we can experience the true security and comfort that we require. With this experience, we open our heart space to the new blessings and gifts that are waiting to be given.
The steps of letting go can be summed up in this way:
1) Surrender the ego that holds the fear of letting go.
2) Notice the fear that comes up into awareness and let that go. 3) Then let go of the old with unconditional love and forgiveness.
4) Feel your heart space open up and allow in the new.
5) Enjoy the experience of knowing you are being blessed and feel gratitude for these blessings.
