Regional Show
Plans are underway for a great show this year. We tried hard to find a suitable location and folks to work on this show in Florida and we were successful. The show is being held June 23-24 at the Tampa Convention Center with Karen Lane and Laura Gregory serving as co-show managers. The flyer will be available soon. Judges are: Anger, Hutzler, Petty, G.Powell, Sumner, Williams, Zottoli, and TBA. We believe this may be the only show in CFA that weekend and the slate was selected in an attempt to draw entries. The showhall is incredible and the show committee is quite enthused. The show will be heavily advertised in order to attract a large gate. This is the first CFA show in Tampa in many years. This venue has proven to draw a large gate for dog shows and we think we can do the same.

Regional Awards Info
Teresa Keiger and her crew have been hard at work to make sure everything runs smoothly for this year's awards presentation. Need info on photos to be sumitted? Hotel info? Need a duplicate award? Lots of info is available right here. |
Regional Awards Banquet
Pat Hawk has agreed to coordinate our banquet this year. There wil be three choices for dinner: beef, chicken, and vegetarian. A better description of the meals and the price will be available on the Regional website soon.
|
Regional Awards Sponsors
Each year we solicit for sponsors for our various regional awards. This year Susan Henry has agreed to coordinate this task for the Region. If any of your club members are receiving an award, why not support them with sponsoring their award? If you have a friend receiving an award this year, it's a great gesture to let them know how proud you are of their accomplishment by sponsoring their award. We have made it easy for you: there is an online form for this and you can even pay via PayPal.

National Show
While the financial report for the 2011 show has not been finalized, the Board has been informed the show's profit will be approximately $8,000 which works out to $1,000 for each of CFA's eight Regions.
Plans are underway for the 2012 show. Each Region's judge selection was announced on 3/31/12 via a CFA-News announcement. A poll will soon be conducted of the clubs in each Region concerning the profit of the 2012 show. I proposed that half the show's profit go to the Region hosting the Annual Meeting and the other half be shared by the eight remaining Regions. Many Regions struggle to raise sufficient funds to host the Annual. Since the Annual is for the benefit of all of CFA, not just the host Region, I believe CFA should help fund these annual gatherings. If this approach is adopted, each of the seven Regions hosting Annuals will eventually benefit. |
Resolutions & Amendments Each year delegates to the Annual Meeting vote on Amendments to the CFA Constitution and Resolutions submitted by clubs. If your club has any to submit, they must be received in the CFA Central Office by April 16th.
|
Ballots & Delegate Forms
Remember that each club is entitled to send a Delegate to the Annual Meeting. Delegate forms must be postmarked by May 1st in order for the club to vote. The forms were recently mailed to each club. If your club did not receive one, please contact Kristi Wollam to obtain a duplicate.
This year we vote on the four CFA Officers and Regional Director. Ballots must be received in the CFA Central Office by May 1. The ballots have been mailed to each club. If your club did not receive a ballot, contact Kristi Wollam for a duplicate.
Within the next week the Central Office will have a list on the CFA website of the ballots and delegate forms received. Please check to make sure your club's was received. |
