Knit Feminine Fashions with Filatura Di Crosa
This season's styles for women are romantic and feminine, with plenty of details and embellishment to highlight the classic and flattering silhouettes. One of our favorite examples of these feminine details is ruffles! Ruffles are everywhere in fashion this spring, and with new yarn from Filatura Di Crosa, they have never been easier to knit.

Knit feminine ruffled looks with FDC yarns

Above right: A spring jacket from the Valentino collection, as seen on Style.com, is an example of how ruffles can embellish a classic silhouette to create a flirty, feminine look. Left: New Bandel yarn makes it fun and simple to create the ruffled look this season, as seen in the Ruffle-Edged Eyelet Jacket from the FDC Spring/Summer 2011 collection.
Bandel yarn

Bandel is a self-ruffling yarn in cotton blend perfect for summer weight projects - similar to our Operadarte yarn but in a fiber blend you will love to wear in warm weather. Bandel can be knit or crocheted on its own, or carried along with a classic yarn to create ruffled embellishments and trims.

Ruffles are appearing on many of the trending looks for this season, from casual feminine daytime wear to dramatic evening pieces. With Bandel, it's easy and fun to add these great ruffled details to your own knitting!

FDC Spring/Summer 2011 Collection

The Filatura Di Crosa Spring/Summer 2011 Pattern Collection is designed to help you capture the romantic and feminine looks that are prevalent this season. So of course there are plenty of ruffles to be found within!

Bandel ruffles adorn five projects in this collection, paired with Brilla and Lovely Jeans yarns. To get inspired for knitting ruffles this season, check out the Ruffle-Edged Eyelet Jacket (pictured above), the Dot and Ruffle Shrug, a Ruffle Tank or V-Neck Shell, and the Lacy Curved Cardigan.

Dreamweaver Tote in Bandel and BrillaCrochet with Filatura Di Crosa. The trendy ruffle effect is easy to capture with crochet, too. This Chanel-inspired bag we call the Dreamweaver Tote uses Bandel and Brilla to create layer upon layer of flirty, feminine detail. The bands of texture and ruffles create a faux-woven appearance, but you will know that it was just crochet with two great yarns and a lot of fun!

The crochet pattern for the Dreamweaver Tote is available as an instant download via our online purchases system. It is rated for a Intermediate level crocheter, and requires two balls of Brilla in each of three colors, and one hank of the fabulous self-ruffling Bandel. Worked up on a D-hook, your finished bag will measure 12" high by 10" wide by 2" deep.
