Hello everyone! Happy June! Have you picked out your beach reading yet? We have a terrific selection of novels and memoirs, perfect for lazy days in the sun. Some suggestions follow in this newsletter, but if nothing strikes your fancy, come on down to the store for some personal recommendations from our knowledgeable, enthusiastic staff!
We also have a great selection of gifts and cards for your Dads and Grads -- Father's Day is June 17th!
As you may already know, we are trying to qualify for a Small Business Grant from Chase Bank/Living Social. We are getting so close to qualifying, but we still need more votes! Please spread the word and get all of your friends and family to vote for your favorite bookstore! We need your help!
Both of our book groups are going strong -- details for the next meetings are in this newsletter -- and we are so happy to be part of such a book-loving community! Please let us know if there are more special events or groups you'd like us to start, and if you are a local author who would like to host an event with us, please email us to make arrangements!
Happy reading! Valerie, Lisa, Kelsey, Michelle, Sara, and Patti Apostrophe Books |

 June Book Club Meeting
June 27th, 6:30 pm
Aimee Bender will be joining us for our June discussion of her novel The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake! Aimee will join us by phone (or possibly Skype, if the technology gods cooperate) from 7 pm to 8 pm on June 27th.
From the Good Reads review:
"On the eve of her ninth birthday, unassuming Rose Edelstein bites into her mother's homemade lemon-chocolate cake and discovers she has a magical gift: she can taste her mother's emotions in the slice. To her horror, she finds that her cheerful mother tastes of despair. Soon, she's privy to the secret knowledge that most families keep hidden: her father's detachment, her mother's transgression, her brother's increasing retreat from the world. But there are some family secrets that even her cursed taste buds can't discern."
Paperback editions of Lemon Cake are available in the store (many copies are autographed!). This book is 15% off for Book Club members. Please print this notice and bring it with you to get your special discount!
We'll gather in the room above our store around 6:30 pm on Wednesday, June 27th. We'll have wine and snacks (I think cake will be necessary!) to complement the discussion. Please email Patti to RSVP if you'd like to join us on June 27th!
