Did you know that we have FREE PARKING in the lot behind Apostrophe Books? Parking on Second Street can be a challenge, and the meters can be an expensive hassle -- check out our free parking for a more pleasant shopping experience!

If you haven't already signed up, ask about our Frequent Buyer's Club the next time you're in the store.  It's completely free to join, and the only information we need is your name: our system keeps track of your spending, and once you reach $100, you get a coupon for $5 off your next purchase!

World Book Night!

World Book Night is an annual celebration designed to spread a love of reading and books.  Started last year in the UK, World Book Night will be celebrated this year on April 23, 2012, across the US, the UK, and Ireland.  Tens of thousands of book lovers will hand out free World Book Night paperbacks.

We love the idea of sharing books to encourage people to visit bookstores and libraries more often, and so Apostrophe Books signed up to be a WBN book pickup bookstore.

Our Book Givers will take a box of specially produced, not-for-resale paperback editions of popular books and distribute them to strangers -- or friends who aren't frequent readers.  There are 30 titles on the list, a wide selection of poetry and fiction, ranging from The Kite Runner to The Hunger Games.  On April 23rd, Book Givers will take their WBN books to a coffee shop or hospital, church or community center, an after-work party or train home, shopping mall or local school -- and give out 20 free paperbacks.

Everywhere you go in Long Beach tomorrow, be sure to keep your eye out for our enthusiastic Book Givers!

All of us at Apostrophe Books were very happy and grateful for all of the Book Givers that turned out last Thursday evening to pick up their books and share a little bit about their chosen book and who they plan on giving the books to. A very warm thank you to all of our Book Givers!
