In fact, we are getting our upstairs space ready for all kinds of events: book club meetings, poetry readings, book signings -- stay tuned for all kinds of big doings at Apostrophe Books this Fall!

During October, it's Halloween every day at Apostrophe Books!  Come in and stock up on new spooky stories for your little goblins and princesses!  We also have a great selection of Halloween cards and gifts in addition to new Halloween books.

Teen Read Week
October 16-22

Celebrate Teen Read Week, October 16th -22nd! Encourage teens to read by sharing books that will spark their imagination and foster a lifelong love of reading.  Here are a few of our favorites . . .

Thirteen Reasons Why, by Jay Asher (paperback, $10.99 and 10% off at Apostrophe Bo
13rw coveroks)

A moving and insightful psychological thriller that explores the complexity of teen       suicide.  This debut novel is beautifully written and hauntingly sad, a must-read for both teens and parents.  The story alternates points of view, between the girl who took her own life and the friends and family who are struggling to understand why they lost her.

Divergent, by Veronica Roth (hardcover, $17.99 and 10% off at Apostrophe Books)Divergent cover

Dystopian fiction at its finest, Divergent tells the story of a future Chicago, where society is divided into five factions, each based on a virtue (honesty, selflessness, bravery, peacefulness, and intelligence).  At the age of 16, every member of society must select the faction he or she will be devoted to.  For Beatrice Prior, this is an impossible choice between being her true self and remaining with everyone she loves.

The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making by Catherynne Valente (hardcover, $17.99 and 10% off at Apostrophe Books)
The Girl Who... cover

The strange title of this delightful fairy tale is only the first of many delightful wonders Catherynne Valente has in store for readers of all ages. Twelve-year-old September is whisked away from her quiet Nebraska home, embarking on a through-the-looking-glass quest of the weirdest order.  Fast-paced, funny and imaginative, this is a book you'll want to read again and again.

The Puzzling World of Winston Breen by Eric Berlin (paperback, $7.99 and 10% off at Apostrophe Books)
WBreen cover
Winston Breen isn't your typical boy.  He sees puzzles everywhere, and there are none he can't solve - none, that is, until his little sister uncovers a mysterious message in a birthday present. Winston and his whole family are soon drawn into a thrilling treasure hunt that will entertain and challenge readers to the very last page.
