Favorite Tech Tip or Trick: I consistenly tell everyone that a minimum of a weekly backup of your hard drive is required to ensure you do not lose any important data. It is only a matter of time until your hard drive will fail. The difference between a small inconvenience vs. catastrophe will be the backup.

Favorite Tech Tip or Trick: Window key + D minimizes all your icons and puts you back on the desktop. I've seen people literally stare in awe at the power of the Window key. Hit it again, and BANG! Everything is back again. It's far easier than minimizing everything.

What Did You Do Before ThrottleNet: I was a software developer for World Wide Technologies.
What Led You to Found ThrottleNet: My first experience in IT after college made me feel that there was a void between the technology stakeholders and technology creators. I would be in meetings where non-technical managers would stare blankly at software developers. The techs could not relate the value of IT to the people taht needed it to generate more business. There was a lot of lost opportunity, inappropriate conflicts and general resentment. IT was during the early 2000s before the IT bubble burst. IT was the hottest commodity around. The developers ran the show and did not care what the business side had to do to keep them employed. As a result, the managers were marginalized. I felt that there was no need for elitism in the tech world. And we built ThrottleNet around this core value. Education is a huge part of our process in working wiht our clients. It may take more time and patience, but it has made our customers very loyal and our business thrives because of it.
What Would You Like Others to Know About ThrottleNet: About the quality of our people. We employ some of the smartest and most dedicated people in the industry. Our staff members never cease to surprise me with creative ideas and innovations in our processes. Being an owner, you think sometimes if you want to get the job done right, do it yourself. The people at ThrottleNet frequently prove this idea wrong. I have the honor of working with some of the best people I have ever met.
Favorite Tech Tip or Trick: Using a USB thumb drive installed with a live Linux distribution to boot a PC to a totally different operating system. I've used this to bak up files on a system with a corrupted Windows installation. It's useful and really cool that you can fit an entire operating system on a USB thumb drive.
