Greetings!
This time of year brings memories of raking up BIG piles of brightly colored leaves, and then gleefully jumping into the middle of the pile, arising with leaves and twigs stuck in our hair, laughing and enjoying our close connection with nature. Or walking through a wooded trail hearing the leaves crunch under our feet while our dog chased squrrels through the trees. Such a rich time of year.

| |  When I recently was asked to put into words why The Gathering Inn exists, and I tried to articulate the passion, vision, and longing of my heart when I dreamed of opening a women's spiritual center, I realized I could not improve upon the words of Oriah Mountain Dreamer when she wrote "The Invitation".
Read it through once as it is written, and then, may I ask you to read it through again substituting "us" for "me" and "we" for "I". Such as "It doesn't interest US what you do for a living", or "WE want to know what you ache for."

Did you know that in winter, the life sap of many plants is tucked away, safe in their roots? The plant people move into their "winter quarters" slowly, and with intention, beginning the process toward the end of summer. They appear to come back to life, joyfully unfolding into Spring and unleashing new seeds when the time is right! The plant people are our wise ancestors.

| WOMEN'S WISDOM FALL WEEKEND RETREAT |

The first of our four seasonal Women's Wisdom weekend retreats. These retreats are appropriate for new or experienced retreaters. All retreats will be facilitated by a member of The Gathering Inn's awesome women. Space is limited to 10 women. We begin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday evening and conclude after lunch on Sunday.
In addition to the wise and gentle guidance of one of The Gathering Inn's experienced Facilitators and all the necessary materials, the retreat fee of $250 per person includes two nights in shared accommodations with all bed linens and towels, 6 delightful healthy meals and snacks prepared to meet your dietary preferences under the guidance of the Inn's Culinary Director, and plenty of opportunity to walk our beautiful grounds and enjoy..

RED TENT GATHERING

 November 11, 1-5pmThe Red Tent, authored by Anita Diamant, tells the story of the tent in which women take refuge while menstruating or giving birth, and in which they find mutual support and encouragement from their mothers, sisters and aunts. Since that book was released, Red Tent groups have sprung up world wide. The Gathering Inn will host a new group, beginning Sunday, Nov. 11th.
Filmmaker, Isadora Gabrielle Leidenfrost, PhD, created her film: "Things We Don't Talk About, Women's Voices from the Red Tent". A portion of that movie was filmed at The Gathering Inn. We will be offering a screening in the near future.
Each Red Tent group has its own "flavor". Be a part of the inaugural Red Tent Gathering on Nov. 11th, a help shape our Tent.

Jen will have her annual 2 hour Holiday Restorative Yoga Class on December 17th. This is a class not to be missed!
Participants will practice by the soft glow of tea lights and the relaxing sounds of nature and pipes as they become rejuvenated - mind, body & spirit - for the hectic holiday season.
This is an opportunity to take some well deserved time for yourself, to let the mind empty as you work through a series of Restorative yoga postures, using pillows, bolsters, blankets and eye pillows.

SOLSTICE SPIRAL CEREMONY

Our yoga studio space is transformed into a beautiful spiral of pine branches, sea shells, stones, driftwood, pine cones and berries, and candles.
Each person has a time to walk contemplatively into the center, light a candle, and reflect on what brings light into their lives and into the world as they spiral back out and set their offering of light into the growing glow of candles. (Everything you need will be provided but feel free to bring you own natural earth element to offer into the space if you wish.)
