Memorial Meditation Garden
As we are approaching Spring and getting our bodies, minds, and souls ready for the out-of-doors, we are again thinking about our Memorial Meditation Garden.
As you may know, we have offered you the opportunity to make a donation toward the completion of this lovely tranquil space in memory or in honor of a woman who means or has meant a great deal to you in your life. Once we have received all the donations, we will have a plaque created with their names and installed in the garden.
To include the name of a woman you wish to honor, please send us your donation and name(s) no later than May 1st.

(free potluck dinner)
Wednesday, March 9, 6:30 - 8:30 PM
How often do you eat being mindful of your food... the color, texture, flavor... being grateful to our Mother Earth for growing our food... being thankful for the hands that prepared the food? We begin our potluck dinners by offering a thought-provoking sentence and then eat in silence for a time as we bring our awareness to our food. We then finish the meal sharing conversation around the idea presented.
Following dinner we transition to the Gathering Room for a thirty minute guided meditation usually tied to the dinner's topic.
Take some time this month just for you, step out of your busyness, enjoy good food and conversation, and reconnect to yourself and your spiritual center. |

Book Discussion The February Book Discussion had to be canceled due to weather so we are carrying this book over to:
Sunday, March 27, 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM
The Woman Who Gave Birth To Her Mother by Kim Chernin
Every mother contains her daughter in herself and every daughter her mother, and every woman extends backward into her mother and forward into her daughter. - Carl Jung "Drawing on accounts of mother-daughter conflicts that she heard about as a practicing psychoanalyst, Chernin provides a method for resolving the problems that can dominate this relationship in her perceptive and creative study. According to the author, many women are locked into a cycle of blaming and forgiving their mothers for any difficulties they have experienced. To transcend this pattern, Chernin recommends that a woman learn to "give birth" to her mother by changing the destructive dynamic that has existed between them through the healing power of storytelling." ~ from Publisher's Weekly
