Greetings!

A quote from Erma Bombeck says, ""When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, 'I used everything you gave me.'"

Consider this slightly different slant. Someone recently told about a conversation with a spiritual teacher. "What", they asked, "would be my finest gift to give the world?" The answer was, "The gift of your wholeness".

Two slightly different takes on living life to the fullest.

The Woman Who Gave Birth To Her Mother
by Kim Chernin

Every mother contains her daughter in herself and every daughter her mother, and every woman extends backward into her mother and forward into her daughter.  - Carl Jung

"Drawing on accounts of mother-daughter conflicts that she heard about as a practicing psychoanalyst, Chernin provides a method for resolving the problems that can dominate this relationship in her perceptive and creative study. According to the author, many women are locked into a cycle of blaming and forgiving their mothers for any difficulties they have experienced. To transcend this pattern, Chernin recommends that a woman learn to "give birth" to her mother by changing the destructive dynamic that has existed between them through the healing power of storytelling." ~ from Publisher's Weekly

MinuteA Minute for Me Retreat

Friday, February 25, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

The high price for trying to get everything done is letting yourself become undone. A busy life is an easy place to lose perspective on what's really important. The best way to regain or keep your balance is to pay attention rather than drowning in the deep pool of never-ending to-dos.

In this daylong retreat, award-winning author Megan McDonough shares simple steps from her latest book "A Minute for Me: Learning to Savor Sixty Seconds" to create a more conscious, deliberate life.
