As Christmas approaches, I can't help but reflect upon all the gifts we have received this year. Although it has been our most financially challenging year since we started in business, God has been faithful to provide "food for the day".
Although some days I feel the weight of the world upon my shoulders, the truth is that we have been blessed beyond what we could ever ask or imagine! I sometimes remind myself that on my very worst day, I am still in a better situation than over 90% of mankind...my troubles are certainly miniscule compared to the suffering and despair that much of the world endures.
With that said, I can't help but remember that God has blessed us so that we will be a blessing to others. The greatest gift ever given was our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ...unfortunately, I am guilty of having received His gift of salvation and then hoarded it for far too many years of my walk with Him.
As I am maturing in my faith, I have reflected upon verses such as James 2:18, 20 and 26. I have reminded myself that, although I am not saved by works (Ephesians 2:8-9), a natural outflow of the Holy Spirit within me is an overflowing of the love, grace, forgiveness and mercy God has lavished upon me.
If you have not yet accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, I pray that this will be the year you will...no, let me correct that...I pray that this will be the day that you do!
In John 14:16, Jesus says he is the way, the truth and the life, that no one comes to the Father except through Him. Coupled with Isaiah 45:22-23,Romans 14:11 and Philippians 2:9-11, I can't help but believe that every human will someday acknowledge Jesus as Lord...as I see it, we can choose to acknowledge Jesus by will or by force. This decision impacts your life for eternity, it is the most important decision you will ever make...my prayer for you this Christmas is that you not only celebrate the birth of Jesus, but that you reflect upon His death on our behalf...and choose to kneel before Him as Lord of your life.
This season, I pray that you will soak up God's presence in your life like a thirsty sponge, and, as He fills you to overflowing, that you would wring out your blessings upon others so that God can fill you up again...and again...and again! May this cycle continue as God uses you to fulfill His plan and your purpose!!!
With bold sincerity and love,
