Issue 5
...the birds of the air can perch in its shade. Mark 4:30-32

Greetings!

"Hello" and "Thank You" for subscribing to our e-newsletter!

As I write this greeting, the birds are singing their early morning songs, the bees are awakening from their nightly respite, and new blossoms and blooms are literally bursting forth before my eyes.

I am always amazed by God's creation, but especially in springtime!  I can't help but remember Ecclesiastes 3 and reflect upon the "seasons" in my life.  I have had seasons of new life, seasons of lush growth, seasons of pruning and refining, seasons of rest, seasons of sowing and seasons of reaping what I have sown.

Regardless of the season of my life, one constant has always remained:  God has never left me nor forsaken me!  During the best of times and the worst of times, He has always lavished His love upon me, providing strength for the day, and, when I lean on Him, bright hope for tomorrow!

So, regardless of whatever season you find yourself in, as Proverbs 3: 5-6 says, "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
This spring, I pray that you will experience new life in Christ; that you will accept His free gift of salvation and that you will soak up His love for you like a sponge!  I pray that you will be transformed from within and that the Holy Spirit will not only bring you healing, restoration and joy, but that it will overflow from you and impact your family, your friends, your workplace, our community and all the way to the ends of the earth.  I pray this not by might, nor by power, but by His Spirit!!!
God Bless YOU this spring!

Sincerely,
Mark Halla

Feature: Designing spaces for entertainment.

PatioDo you love to entertain, but feel like something is missing? Patiosfire pitsoutdoor kitchensnight lighting and water features are a great way to create an extension of the house that you and your guests will enjoy for years. Projects can range from a small flagstone patio and bistro set to enjoy your morning coffee to fully equipped kitchens with a grill and fire pit! Other options are to build a pergola over an existing patio to make it feel more sheltered or add a pond to attract birds to the yard and create a focal point around a space.

So you may be thinking, "This is Minnesota, it is only nice three months of the year." That is not true! Outdoor spaces area a great way to watch the different seasons progress and host themed parties like religious holidays, birthdays, Mayday, or Oktoberfest. It can even be fun to have a bonfire outside at New Years or during the fall when Indian Summer hits.

Crew Spotlight

One of our customers had just installed a new deck, but soon realized they would like to use even more of their yard for relaxing/entertaining.  After working with one of our designers, they decided to install a double-circle paver patio Patio(one smaller than the other for morning coffee) to be located just off of the new deck.  They also opted for a flagstone patio with a fire pit, nestled into a small hillside with a boulder retaining wall and surrounded with perennials and existing shrubbery.   Upon starting the work, the Mustard Seed installation crew realized something was not right. The existing shrubs were watered by an irrigation system, yet were small and struggling.  The crew realized that plastic had been installed under the mulch around the plantings and burlap surrounding the trees and shrubs had not been untied or cut before planting. Basically, the existing plants had been planted incorrectly and were literally "bound" to die. Our crew quickly jumped in,  removed the plastic, and untied/cut the burlap to allow water to permiate the ground and roots to develop.  Within a year, the plantings were healthy as can be and growing like mad behind the beautiful new entertainment spaces!
