Greetings!
"Hello" and "Thank You" for subscribing to our e-newsletter! We hope you will find the new format interesting, informative, educational and fun! among other things, we have added some new features which include a monthly Bible verse, a calendar of timely things to do in your yard, employee and customer spotlights, a special discount coupon for e-newsletter subscribers only, etc... Some of you know that part of our Mission Statement is... "to enhance lives and lifestyles by developing positive relationships and experiences..." We hope this newsletter does just that, and we welcome your ongoing feedback and suggestions. Before you read on, I can't help but reflect on the struggles many of you may have faced this past year as our economy faltered, jobs were lost, and lives were turned upside down. I want to remind you (and me :-) that nothing comes our way that God isn't able to handle! With that said, I have found it helpful to memorize Psalm 121:1-2 "I lift up my eyes to the hills-where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth." May the Lord Bless you this season with His power, His peace, and, most of all, His presence!!! Sincerely, Mark Halla Steward |
Is it too early to Design for Spring?
We think not! However, the answer really depends on when you want to have your project installed. It may surprise you to know that almost 50% of our landscape work is contracted for within a six week period in early spring, quickly filling our schedule. If you want/need your landscape completed in May, for instance, you should stop reading this and call us right now! If you have no urgent need, no worries, it's OK to take your time and call us when you're ready. Although it's cold out there right now, we promise to present your design in the warmth of your home; perhaps even on one of these 1910 Factory Cart Coffee Tables you could win for free just for becoming a customer! One thing to remember is that the final estimate sometimes requires the snow to be gone. Therefore, we can design now, but depending on your site, we may still need to return in early spring to finalize things. Designing now allows you more time to think about your project and to consider your options more thoroughly. It also means that we can give you some extra incentives (like winning a coffee table or giving an early prepayment discount, etc...) because this is typically a slower time of year for us. So, if you've been dreaming about creating an outdoor oasis and vacationing in your own backyard, call us today and we will help turn that dream into a reality!

Spring Cleaning Already?
For us, Spring comes with a bit of a vengeance...so our "Spring Cleaning" always happens in the Winter. Right now we are reorganizing the Garden Center and making room for the fresh new products and accessories that will be arriving soon. If you happen to stop in during the next several months, and we hope you do, please pardon our mess! Whenever we do our Spring Cleaning, we always find some items that we will no longer stock or that we simply can't fit in with all the new items already on their way. This is where you benefit because our way of making room is to have a Spring Cleaning Sale! We will have a great variety of items on sale, many up to 50% off, and some even more! The Sale is already under way and will end February 27, 2010, so stop in early for the best selection. Just a reminder, we are closed on Sundays and Mondays until April. When spring really does arrive and you find yourself doing your own spring cleaning, please remember that we offer free recycling of plastic landscape pots. We send them all the way to Michigan where they are melted down and turned into new pots year after year! Some of you are thinking, "but what about all that gas?"...no worries, the trucks we send them on are already headed back to Michigan, with empty trailers, and this partnership is totally environmentally friendly. The pots must be clean and free of any staples or attached tags and you are welcome to drop them off anytime April through October.

Crew Spotlight
Got the Winter Blues? This time of year, especially in Minnesota, many of us head off to work before the sun rises and return home again after it sets. If you're like us, it's easy to get a bit down and perhaps even a little depressed. The good news is that the days are getting longer and each day we get a little bit closer to spring, Praise the Lord! Anytime of year, but especially in the winter months, Nightlighting can brighten your day by illuminating your night! For some, Nightlighting is purely functional...it provides safety and security by highlighting steps, pathways, entrances, etc...For others, it's value is mostly aesthetic, drawing attention to trees, shrubs, ponds, and more...providing a cozy welcoming feel to their home. Properly done, Nightlighting is both functional and aesthetic, adding value and safety to your home and a smile to your face! As an added bonus, not only does Nightlighting help you see the landscape investment that lies serenely hidden beneath the snow, but you'll be surprised at how many nocturnal animals come to visit your yard. Our customers report seeing deer, rabbits, skunks, mink, opossum, owls, fox, coyote and more...here are a couple pictures that we hope you enjoy! |
