PHMSA Releases 2012 schedule for its Multimodal Hazardous Materials Transportation Training Two-Day Seminars

The Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) offers several two-day seminars and one-day workshops throughout the year. These free training events are conducted by the Hazardous Materials Safety Assistance Team (HMSAT) and are intended for anyone who offers or transports hazardous materials in commerce or has a desire to learn more about DOT's Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR). Experts throughout the hazardous materials transportation community provide this in-person training.

The one-day workshops provide an overview of how to use the Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR) and a summary of many of the requirements found in the HMR which can affect transportation safety, including: Training Requirements, Packaging, Hazard Communications, and Security.

Each two-day seminar begins with a General Session that provides overviews of the Department of Transportation's Hazardous Materials Program. The remainder of the two-day seminar consists of Concurrent Breakout Sessions that are organized and scheduled into three different tracks.

Schedule and registration information for the one-day and two-day seminars can be found on PHSMA's Training and Outreach - Seminars, Workshops and Meetings page (http://phmsa.dot.gov/hazmat/training/seminars)
