Greetings!
The following is an important message brought to you from The Columbia Triathlon Association on behalf of Bicycling Advocates of Howard County.
Ten Oaks Road Lane Addition to Begin ELLICOTT CITY, MD - A Howard County construction project to widen a section of Ten Oaks Road just north of Maryland Route 108 in Clarksville is scheduled to begin on or about Monday, June 28. Approximately 500 feet of Ten Oaks Road will be widened to include additional northbound and southbound traffic lanes. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by late September. Temporary lane closures can be expected. Flagging operations will be in place to direct traffic as needed and variable message signs will be in place to advise motorists of the construction. Additionally, a recorded message at 410-313-3638 will carry details and updates.
The Folly Quarter repaving (from Homewood to Tridelphia Rd) will commence on Monday June 28th and continue through late July. This will be a complete repaving with the road surface ground down and new asphalt put down; for most of this time portions of the road will be unrideable on a bike. The County is also paving segments of Tridelphia between Folly Quarter and Ten Oaks traffic circle. When this is done we'll all have a much better ride North of Columbia - just plan your alternative routes now.
Please pass information on to your friends/other riders in the County.
