**NEW** PARK
AND RIDE SERVICE Please take advantage of
this new option- arrive early and leave the driving to us!
As an incentive to use the
shuttle, we are having a raffle. Athletes boarding a shuttle bus will have
their race number noted and a drawing will be held.
Winner gets a complementary entry to Eagleman Ironman 70.3 2011... a $350 value, guaranteed!
We have arranged for a Park & Ride located in three large Cambridge school lots for
your convenience on race morning. This service takes the worry out of
finding a convenient and legal parking spot when your focus should be on
your race. Parking lots will be easy to
locate. Signs will direct you from both Route 50 entering Cambridge
from the North (from Easton) and East (from Salisbury) along Route 16 to
Mace's Lane Middle and Choptank Elementary Schools (co-located) Buses will begin at 4:30 am and run
until 6:30 am transporting athletes and supporters to the race drop-off
area. Transition Area closes promptly at 6:45 am, so plan accordingly.
Shuttles will resume returning supporters to parking
lots starting at 12:00 pm and ending at 5:00 pm. Spectators and supporters
can shuttle back to their car and return to pick up their athlete,
otherwise athletes are encouraged to ride bikes back to the parking lot
(route will be signed for easy return - 1 ½ miles). Unfortunately, the buses cannot carry
bikes. Shuttle buses will
Pick-Up outside the park on Hambrooks Boulevard.
There are NO official
parking areas close to Race Venue other than public streets shown on
the map.

**NOTE
** In past years, many chose to stay on the west side of the Bay Bridge
and drive to the race early race day. An early morning accident
occurred and thus they missed their wave start or the ENTIRE race.
Do not let this happen to you!

IRONMAN
70.3 RACE RULES: Click here for Ironman 70.3 Race Rules
Be sure to note the IronMan rule
that during the bike portion of the race, every athlete MUST wear the
race bib number (the same one that will be worn on the run portion) so
that it faces toward the back. A race belt is probably the best /
easiest method of accomplishing this since the same number must be worn
on your front during the run. For the swim, you will be body marked
with your race number. For the bike, you will have a bib number on your
back, helmet number, and a bike frame number. For the run, you will
have a bib number on the front.
