Excitement Builds As We Welcome Pro Cast for 2010 Columbia Triahtlon
This year's event is headlined in the men's division by two time Ironman Hawaii world champ, Tim DeBoom of CO. Tim's last and only appearance at the Columbia Triathlon was in 1994, when as a relative unknown amateur athlete, he captured the overall title which served as the USAT national age group championship.  Additional challengers are Ironman 70.3 champ and perennial podium finisher Michael Lovato, and the young, up and coming Team K Swiss member, Andrew Yoder from PA who placed 2nd in the 2009 Columbia Triathlon to Terenzo Bozzonne.

The ladies field is equally star studded including women's course record holder and defending champ Rebeccah Wassner racing for Team Fight, and the UCF and two time Columbia Triathlon champion, Team USA member Margie Shapiro of VA. Also contending are local favorites and champions in their own right, Desiree Ficker, and Amanda Lovato.

IG Practice Route 2010 Aflac Iron Girl Columbia Training Bike Rides
The 2010 rides will start April 13, and run every Tuesday at 6pm and 6:15pm from Folly Quarter Middle School at 13500 Tridelphia Road. The route is 10.4 miles and follows along part of the Columbia Triathlon training route. Thanks to CTA staff and to Princeton Sports and the BAHC group for their input and support of these rides.  Rain will cancel the rides.

In addition, Bicycling Advocates of Howard County (BAHC) and Mid-Atlantic Off-Road Enthusiasts signed an agreement with Howard County Recreation & Parks (RAP) to teach Biking 101 courses this Spring 2010 through the RAP recreation catalog.
