United Way's signature fundraising event, the second annual Red, White and Blues, will be heald at the home of Bill and Kathy Jones on July 9, 2011 at 7 PM. This outdoors, casual dinner features a low-country boil, live music, and unique entertainment- crab racing. The event is reminiscent of the southern coastal areas and associated with the 4th of July holiday.

Nearly 200 participants ran, jogged, and walked at The Avenue Murfreesboro on Sunday, May 22, 2011 in the inaugural Run United 5K. The event was hosted by The Avenue Murfreesboro to benefit United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties. Different vendors at The Avenue provided coupons and door prizes for participants.
The event raised over $3,500 to benefit United Way's partner agencies.

2011 Community Investment Press Conference
United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties will hold a press conference on June 9, 2011 at 2 PM at the United Way office to announce the 2011 - 2012 community investments. More than 80 volunteers have provided their time and efforts to make decisions that will directly impact the local community. The press conference is open to the public. | |
