Primary Care and Hope Clinic
"Making a Healthy Difference One Life at a Time..."
The Primary Care and Hope Clinic is a not-for-profit healthcare clinic providing quality, affordable family health services to uninsured, Medicare, Medicaid and underserved families in our community. The clinic operates on a sliding fee scale based on income and family size. It was developed in 1992 by a group of concerned citizens who saw a need to increase and improve access to healthcare in Rutherford County. The vision of the Primary Care and Hope Clinic is to provide a medical home for the uninsured that consists of the sustained and integrated delivery of preventive, acute, and chronic health care services. As a primary care safety net provider, the Primary Care and Hope Clinic assumes ongoing responsibility for health maintenance and disease management, emphasizing continuity of care over the entire spectrum of health care services. The Primary Care and Hope Clinic provides healthcare for all ages. Services provided by the clinic include: well child exams; adult and child immunizations; healthcare for acute illnesses such as colds, flu and sore throats; healthcare for chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension and high cholesterol and healthcare for minor injuries including cuts, burn and suture removal. Additional programs offered by the clinic include a satellite clinic, Hope II, in the Franklin Heights Housing Authority, Behavioral Health Services through a collaboration with the Guidance Center, and expanded pediatric outreach through a Mobile Health Unit partnership with Murfreesboro City Schools. The Primary Care & Hope Clinic strengthens the vision of providing affordable, accessible health care for the uninsured by combining the efforts of volunteers, businesses, educational, civic, religious, professional, and governmental institutions. Involving the entire community allows the clinic to operate as a responsible steward of its charitable resources while providing clinically excellent health care for the uninsured. The Clinic is funded through support from Middle Tennessee Medical Center, HCA Foundation, United Way, Charity Circle of Murfreesboro, county and city government, churches, private foundations, and individual donors. The Primary Care and Hope Clinic is located at 1453A Hope Way in Murfreesboro. It features 24 exam rooms, 3 treatment rooms, an education classroom and a behavioral health suite. For more information about the Primary Care and Hope Clinic please call 893- 9390. |

How to Live United
Set the Pace. Start Early.
Be a "Pacesetter."
What is the Pacesetter Program?
The Pacestter program is designed for those select companies who are spotlighted as leaders in the community. Your company will help "set the pace" for the whole campaign. The Pacesetter group begins their campaign at the beginning of August and completes their campaign by Labor Day (September 6). This gives companies a chance to run a fast, highly publicized, efficient campaign. These dedicated companies start the momentum for the United Way campaign, spreading excitement through the community.
Advantages to being a Pacesetter:
- High visibility with signage, promotions, and print and radio recognition
- Promotion of your company as a UW supporter
- Encourages campaigns to be held early, quickly and efficiently
- Allows for concentrated efforts of staff and volunteers
What United Way will offer Pacesetters:
- Signs exhibiting your company's support
- Special pick up date for campaign supplies
- Media promotions highlighting Pacesetter companies
- Concentrated support by United Way staff
- Special training for those needing assistance
The United Way thanks the following companies that want to set the pace for the 2010 campaign:
FirstBank, SEC, Inc., Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce, Murfreesboro Electric Department, Ingram Content Group, and Walmart
If your company wants to showcase community spirit and benefit from positive press by running a Pacesetter campaign, please contact Carolyn Tumbleson, Director of Resource Development at 615-893-7303. |

Support 2-1-1

| For the millions of Americans needing help every day - from locating financial assistance to finding quality child care for kids, 2-1-1 is an easy-to-remember phone number connecting those in need to essential community resources.
Today, 2-1-1 covers 80% of the country, but there are still to many people that don't have access. You can get involved simply by spreading the word about 2-1-1.
Join the 2-1-1 Cause on Facebook 2010 is a crucial year for the Calling for 2-1-1 Act (S.211/H.R.211) in Congress. The bill has adequate support in the Senate (56 Members), but needs only 19 more cosponsors (201 now) to have the bill expedited in the House. Your House Representative may be key to getting 2-1-1 through Congress. If they have already co-sponsored this, thanking them enough may convert them into champions for the bill. If they have not co-sponsored (233 fit this description) this bill, they may need some convincing.
If we can convince just 19 of these 233 non-sponsoring Members, the bill moves to the next stage! So contact them now.
