The 29th Annual Walk Against Hunger

We're lacing up and stretching out, getting ready to fall in step with Foodshare of Greater Hartford in the annual Walk Against Hunger, a regional fundraiser that makes it possible for the Friendship Center to end hunger every day for people served in our soup kitchen. Join us!
Last year the Friendship Center served more than 92,500 meals and snacks to shelter residents and soup kitchen patrons, thanks in large part to funds raised through the Walk Against Hunger. With food prices going up for all of us, the soup kitchen is feeling even more stretched than usual.
There are lots of ways you can join in:
- Register on Foodshare's website to Walk the Walk, designate the Friendship Service Center to benefit from the dollars you raise, and start racking up sponsor support (online and/or offline).
- Join the Friendship Center Archangels walk team.
- Even if you cannot walk the Walk on Walk Day, you can still walk "in spirit" by registering online as a walker and raising funds.
- Create a team and recruit family, friends and colleagues to walk with you.
- Donate to a walker who is walking for the Friendship Center.
The Walk is mapped out differently this year. Pre-Walk festivities will be held in Hartbeat Park, across Asylum Avenue from The Hartford Insurance Company. The 2-1/2 mile route includes a loop around Hartford's historic Bushnell Park. What a treat on a beautiful Spring day!

Be an Archangel, create a team of your own, walk "in spirit," or support a walker walking for the Friendship Center. The important thing is that we're all walkin' together to end hunger for someone everyday!
