The Friendship Service Center of New Britain is pleased to receive a portion of the proceeds from the 2011 Holiday Gospel Celebration
on December 4, 2011.  We would like to thank producer James B. Dorsey for his inspiration and creativity, all of the gifted performing artists, and First Lutheran Church of the Reformation for their hospitality.  Contributions will provide food, shelter and assistance to men, women and children who are homeless, friendless and hungry during the
holidays and throughout the year.
Thanksgiving Tables a'Plenty

A big SHOUT OUT to everyone who participated this year in the Friendship Center's annual Thanksgiving Basket project. Food baskets were provided to 85 families who needed help.  Each basket included non-perishable food necessary for a family's thanksgiving dinner, plus a grocery store gift card for the purchase of a turkey, dairy and fresh produce.   Recipients of the baskets expressed their own appreciation by saying:

"Gracias por su generosidad y que tenga un Feliz Da de Gracias."( "Thank you for your generosity and may you have a Happy Thanksgiving."); "Thanks so much for helping my Thanksgiving be great!"; and "Thank you very much from the bottom of my heart. Glad that you thought about me and you will be forever in my prayers."

A big thank you to staff member Catherine Evans, case manager, who coordinated this year's effort.  Many thanks to the individual donors, families, congregations, community groups and the Friends of the Friendship Center, who made Thanksgiving a special day for others.
