Give a gift.  Feed the birds. Help to end HUNGER.

Support the Friends of the Friendship Center's newest project to raise awareness of hunger and feed our neighbors in need.

The Friends of the Friendship Center are selling "gourmet" birdseed this Fall, packaged in classy bright red take-out containers for an amazing price of only $5.  Not only is it a novel gift-giving idea for the upcoming holidays, it is a way that we all can spread the word that hunger in our community is, well... "for the birds."  Proceeds from the project will support Friendship Center residents directly.

The Friends will sell the"Hunger is for the Birds!" seed at the Harvest for Hunger Juried Craft Show and Farmer's Market on Saturday, October 22, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Bethany Covenant Church, 785 Mills Street, Berlin, CT 06037.

The Friends also will have a booth at the Arbor Rose Holiday Crafts Fair on Saturday, November 19, at Jerome Home, 975 Corbin Avenue, New Britain, CT 06052.

This project follows on the heels of Friends' successful "Homelessness is for the Birds!" project last year which raised community awareness of the issue of homelessness.  It resulted in more than 100 one-of-a-kind birdhouses being designed, built, decorated, auctioned and sold, also to benefit Friendship Center residents.

For more information about venues to purchase the birdseed in take-out containers, call the Friendship Center at 860-225-0211 x-202, and watch for more news on our website www.friendshipservicecenter.org.
