Smokin' Hot Walk

Greetings!
Moving on UP!
Home Sweet Home!
Annual Mtg. 2010 - Aetna Award

At long last... The first wave of residents are now moved in to their second and third-floor apartments at 59 Arch Street, marking a major milestone for the Friendship Center's Arch Street Housing Project.

Nine of the project's total 21 one and two-bedroom apartments have been appointed with basic bedding and furniture to each resident's taste.  And, as a gift from the Friends of the Friendship Center, each resident or family has been provided with household items with which they can set up housekeeping.
A gift basket of household "musts" greeted each resident on move-in day.

Amid all the confusion that comes with moving into a new home, the first residents of the Arch Street Housing Project can't help but SMILE.  Congratulations and best wishes, all!

Annual Mtg. 2010 - Aetna Award
The smokin' 93-degree humid weather in Hartford on Sunday, May 2, did not deter walk teams from their efforts to feed hungry people in New Britain through their participation in this year's Walk Against Hunger.  Friendship Center walkers easily spotted each other among the thousands of Hartford-area participants by their "snappy" matching t-shirts.  Many thanks to everyone who raised and/or donated funds to help end hunger in our community through Foodshare of Greater Hartford's annual event.  Our combined results will be announced when the tally is received from Foodshare.  In the meantime...

Thanks to all!
