COE's Birth Through Five Program offers STAR Scholarships

B-5 STAR Scholarship The College of Education's Birth Through Five (B-5) Program is now accepting applications for the new B-5 STAR Scholarships.

The COE has partnered with Atlanta Technical College, Georgia Piedmont Technical College and Gwinnett Technical College to select up to 15 technical college early childhood education graduates for the scholarships, which will provide funds to complete a bachelor's degree in Birth Through Five at Georgia State University. These scholarships are supported by grant funding from The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, the Zeist Foundation and the Joseph B. Whitehead Foundation through United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta/Smart Start.

Graduates of this innovative program are prepared for a variety of roles to work with young children and families, including children with special education needs.

In addition to their coursework, STAR Scholarship students will also have the opportunity to intern at local child development centers, gaining practical experience working with children and families during one of the most crucial periods of a child's life.
