Topic: "Cultural politics and the political economy of educational reform"
Kristen Buras is a visiting assistant professor of urban educational policy and reform in the College of Education at Georgia State University. Her research critically examines the cultural politics and political economy of educational reform, with a focus on dynamics of unequal power.

A Call for Nominations
The College of Education is currently accepting nominations for the 2012 Distinguished Alumnus Award. This award is given annually to a COE alumnus who has made outstanding contributions in his/her profession and in the community. Recipients can be nominated by academic peers, fellow alumni, faculty, staff or students. Self-nominations are also accepted.
