Your Association was very proud to have presented three $2500 GAABA scholarships to deserving area DISD High School seniors in May. I was pleased to present two of these at the Awards ceremonies at North Dallas H.S. and Woodrow Wilson H.S. on behalf of the Association. Angela Morris, our Board Secretary made the presentation at Conrad H.S.
We did receive some positive news coverage in the Dallas Morning News and on their website and through the DISD weekly newsletters. The DISD acknowledged our scholarships with a letter of thanks and appreciation stressing the importance of our financial support to these aspiring seniors as they prepare for a college career.
 
St Patrick's Day Parade
Your board is exploring additional sponsors for our annual St Patrick's Day Parade in 2010 and beyond. As you know the operating costs for the Parade have increased substantially over the years with the growing number of spectators.  In order to provide adequate security, clean-up barriers and port-lets, our expenses have grown. We know we have the biggest and best annual Parade in North Texas and we are making an effort to market the event to prospective new sponsors in order to raise additional revenue.
