Silent Auction and 50/50 Raffle
at Field ROCKS (Spring Dance)
Each grade has been assigned a theme for their silent auction basket.  There is a collection basket in each classroom for those donated items.  We would like to have all basket donations collected by Wednesday, April 21, to get ready for our Spring Dance.

In addition, we are also seeking general donations to be a part of the auction.  If individuals or businesses would like to make donations of goods or services, they may contact Jody Tetlow at jodytetlow@gmail.com or at home 885-8044.

Everyone will also have the opportunity to participate in a 50/50 raffle.  You may purchase raffle tickets at the auction for a chance to win 50% of the raffle proceeds!

All of the funds raised for Spring Dance will go towards supporting technology at Field!

Basket Themes:

PTA Board:  Gifts for Every Occasion
($5.00-$10.00 gift cards from any location)

Kindergarten:  Let's Get Crafty (art supplies and crafts)

1st Grade:  Fall into Reading (BOOKS!)

2nd Grade:  Summer Fun (pool toys, beach towels, travel games)

3rd Grade:  Blooming (gardening items)

4th Grade:  Movie Night/Family Fun Night
(movie gift cards, board games, popcorn)

5th Grade:  BAM! (kitchen or cooking items)

These are only suggestions and we will encourage families to be creative within their themes!

We welcome and appreciate any and all contributions. Questions, please contact Jody Tetlow, jodytetlow@msn.com.
Great Job!
Thanks so much to our Field families and volunteers for supporting our school and its special events! We are so excited to report the following successes from March:

The Barnes & Noble Book Fair hit the $10,000 total sales mark which means collectively participating schools will receive 20% back - the highest percentage available. Special thanks to Missy Joplin for coordinating Field's part of the event!

The Wii Tournament raised $115 from participants and approximately $85 in food sales. Many students are already asking when the next tournament will be! Special thanks to Tom Baird for coordinating the event and McSalty's for hosting.

Special thanks to Lisa Cantin for writing a grant that has been awarded to Field! Our school was selected from thousands of gardening programs across the country as a $500 Garden Package winner of the 2010 Welch's Harvest Grant!

Special thanks to Jennifer Petty who has organized this year's monthly skating parties. These parties are popular with all grades and are a wonderful way for Field families to enjoy each other's company!

Field Flyer Goes Green!
Constant Contact has been a tremendous success this year.  We have been able to reduce paper waste by making use of Constant Contact as a means to send our PTA Newsletter as well as notifications of events, and last minute changes.

Please, if you have not already signed up for or have not been receiving your e-newsletter, send your email address to Carol Wooten at carolwooten@mchsi.com. For those without access to a computer or email, hard copies of the newsletter will continue to be printed and placed in the flyer distribution stand directly inside the front door at Field. All questions and comments regarding this change may be directed to Alice Weimer at 844-4792 or alice@weimer.cc. Thank you for your support as we move toward becoming a more environmentally-conscious school.
Labels and Box Tops = $ for Field
THE COMPETITION IS FIERCE.......
BOX TOPS, CAMPBELL SOUP LABELS AND
TYSON CHICKEN LABEL UPDATE
boxtops
The student body and their families at Field Elementary have done an amazing job collecting over 2,150 points for Campbell's Labels for Education (up from 840 points in the last collection, another $460.90 in Box Tops (that is 4,690 Box Tops which is up from the 2,950 Box Tops collected last time) and a few Tyson Chicken Labels (we have to wait until we have 100 before we can submit those).

In any event, thank you, thank you, thank you for helping earn more money and equipment for our school.  The competition is still going strong and we will have the rankings by class posted in the cafeteria, and announced over the intercom within the next week.  We will also announce our 3rd Quarter Individual Winner.

Please keep trimming those pink Box Tops, Campbell Soup Labels and Tyson Chicken Labels and our next collection will be APRIL 19, 2010.  Please make sure that you mark your label and Box Top baggie so that your class gets credit and you could possibly catapult them to winning the Ice Cream Party at the end of the year. Plus, one more incentive we are going to throw out there for every class that has all of their labels neatly trimmed (i.e. cut on the dotted lines, not torn off the top of the box or soup label torn off the can), that class will earn extra bonus points of 50 that could push them to the front of the race for the Ice Cream Party.  Happy trimming and good luck!!!!!!
