Testimonial - Touching Lives in Tampa

Renee Savic, Child Life Coordinator at Shriner's Hospital for Children in Tampa, Florida, recently shared her experience working with patients and using The Big Fun Box to reduce stress before surgery. "Working in a pediatric hospital gives you an appreciation for the strength and resilience children have. I often hear from adults "How can you work with hospitalized kids--it's so sad?" I tell them how wonderful it is to see a child light up over a stuffed animal or walk for the first time with their new prosthetic. Little things make a big difference for children while hospitalized. One joy that is often brought to a child about to go to surgery is the gift of The Big Fun Box." Renee says, "the activities provide a diversion while the children are waiting to go to surgery. Families of children going to surgery verbalized the boxes gave the kids something to do and they felt happy to be given a gift. The Big Fun Boxes are a nice way to make the patients feel safe and offer a chance to play and have fun while being in the hospital."

Thank you Shriner's Hospital for Children and Renee for your continued support of The Big Fun Foundation!
