April Newsletter!
Greetings!

The "BIG SPRING ISSUE" is here.  In the five years we've been serving you and this great knitting community here in the metropolitan Des Moines area, we can honestly say this is the most exciting spring season to date.  We have more new spring yarns to carry you through the summer than we have ever ordered this time of year.  Plus, get ready as we unveil the rest of the "path of knits & purls" for our summer long contests and a new way for you to save some cash as we REWARD you for supporting the industry that supports your passion for knitting.  Read about all of this as-well-as an exciting list of April Classes,  "The Friday Night Knit Club" and a sneak-peak of our spring parade of yarns.

For everyone who entered the Monster Birthday Bash Contest and we are happy to say there are many of you, here is a friendly reminder to make sure you turn your monster in by the end of the day April 18th, 4pm.  Want to meet Nancy's monster (actually she calls him an elf)?  Visit her blog and read the story for yourself  K2TOG with Nancy Wyatt. You can meet Nestor and read her cute story she wrote about the little guy.

We hope you enjoy the rest of the issue.

Holiday to Holiday
It's a Path to Knits & Purls

Hopefully as you watched the video of Nancy and Megan and then followed the crazy process to get all the details for our Monster Birthday Bash Contest, you figured out that this is all leading to a series of contests and then one BIG GRAND PRIZE!  Kicking off the Monster Contest has lead to a fury of competitiveness ... we were surprised and THRILLED (to say the least), at what spunk you knitters have for competition.  So we can only preclude that this is going to be one hilarious spring and summer of really fun Holidays.

Now this is how it works.  We've started the first Holiday with our Birthday Bash, the next is Easter, around the corner is Memorial Day, down the hill is the Fourth of July, through the corn field and out on main street is the State Fair Parade and then we'll finish this up on the other side of the lake with Labor Day (we said it would be a path).  Each of these celebrations will kick off another contest in the series and each will have a different theme.  But you're gonna have to stay connected, because you won't get the details for these contests until the week prior to the Holiday date.

We're so excited to have you over for the Holidays ... don't forget to keep checking the map :)

Local Yarn Store
(LYS)

R E W A R D S

We want to thank you for supporting your Local Yarn Store (LYS) ... in fact we want to let you know just how grateful we are to you for supporting your LYS, regardless of who or where that LYS is, that we are offering you R E W A R D S.  Why?  Because supporting your LYS is the single most important thing you can do to help grow the needle arts community and industry as a whole.  Why is this important?  Because the greater support of the industry by the community, the greater the incentive for designers to continue the development of really amazing yarns and patterns.

So here are our rewards for you.  During the months of April, May and June, every time you visit Knitted Together and bring your receipt from another LYS with you, we'll honor it by giving you 10% off your yarn purchase.  Why?  Because we want you to know that we support you by supporting the needle arts industry as a whole.  There are a few rules, so be sure to keep reading and check-out how to cash in on the savings.

Loyalty Has It's

R E W A R D S

Yes it sure does.  Bring in your receipts from Knitted Together and receive an even greater discount off your yarn purchase.  That's right, if you're a loyal customer of Knitted Together we want to give you an even sweeter deal.  So, again ... PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING RULES to see how our discounts apply.

How Our Discounts Apply to Receive LYS Rewards:

  1. Rewards Promotion starts April 1, 2011 and ends June 30, 2011.
  2. When you bring in a receipt from any local yarn store (LYS), you will receive 10% off your yarn purchase at that time.  Your receipt must be the original invoice (no photo copies).  We won't keep it, but we will put a pink highlighter mark on it, as it can only be used once.
  3. Your receipt must be dated in the same month and year as the date of your purchase (ie: to use your receipt from a LYS to get a discount at Knitted Together in April 2011, your receipt must be dated in April 2011 ... same applies for May and June.).
  4. Your receipt must be from an in-store purchase and likewise can only be used in our store (no on-line purchases for this promotion).
  5. Reward discounts will only be applied to YARN purchases.
  6. You must agree to have a current customer card in our Point of Sale (if you don't already) and must agree to join our e-mail list.

  3. Your receipts must be dated in the same month and year and only receipts for April, May and June apply.  So, you must spend at least $75 dollars in a one month period to get your discount, however you can receive a discount every time you spend $75 on a new receipt or combination of receipts.

"FRIDAY NIGHT KNIT CLUB"

Join Us for SHOW & TELL

Looking for an opportunity to tell others about a new stitch you've learned, a new technique you're using or just want to show off one of your favorite projects from the great yarn you got at Knitted Together ... then join us Friday April 29th at the "FNKC".  We are going to enjoy an evening of listening to all of you share stories about your knitting and favorite projects.  So make a few notes and prepare a few thoughts and come ready to share and hear a little "yarn tale".

*Here is our little reminder that those of you who join us at the "FNKC" will be the first know as we REVEAL the winners of the Monster Birthday Bash Contest.  So be sure to save the date on your calendar and we'll see you at 6pm.

We can't wait to see you there.
Yarns to Come & See ...
Our hearts are filled with pain and our prayers are full of petitions of compassion and peace for the people of Japan.  Yet, we would like to let you know that our supply of NORO Yarns hasn't suffered any.  We just received an order of Kureyon and Silk Garden, while our second batch of Taiyo continues to disappear.  The Noro, Kirameki lace and Silk Garden Sock-Sport are becoming favorites with the shawl knitters ... and we continue to anxiously await the arrival of Taiyo Sock and Silk Garden Lite (dk weight).

If your heart feels the same for Japan as does ours ... we suggest you check out Nancy's blog.  In her March 17th post, Nancy shares how our good friend Hey Jen Renee is doing her part to send relief to Japan while sharing her passion for knitting with others.

This is just a taste of the great spring line-up of yarns ... soon we hope to parade all the new spring fashion of yarns "down the runway" for you.  In the meantime you'll have to stop by the store to see them.
Images ... having trouble viewing?
We would like to make a few comments on images.  If you are having trouble viewing this e-mail or if it doesn't look great ... you may need to add us to your safe sender list ... which will allow the images to download automatically.  Also, with the design and implementation of our web-store, the e-mail format and Nancy's blog, we have found that Mozilla Firefox web-browser seems to provide the most consistent viewing experience.  We tried to make everything compatible with as many browsers as possible ... but somethings will never be perfect ... these are just our suggestions.

We have also added a link at the top of the page to view our Web-Letter in a web browser.  This could be extremely helpful if you are like Tim and have Microsoft Outlook 2007 for your e-mail program.

CONTESTS, PRIZES, REWARDS ...

Just COME & SEE  what we're up to ... you won't be disappointed.

God bless,
from all of us at Knitted Together
