The Holiday Issue, Christmas Gift Ideas & Yes ... More New Yarns!
Greetings!

Welcome to our Holiday Issue of the Web-Letter!  If you have been eagerly awaiting the delivery of the November issue ... this is it.  With so much going on in our store, plus November and December being such a busy time, we decided to combine the two months with one amazing Holiday Issue.  We hope you enjoy it!

Before we begin ... a quick Public Service Announcement:  someone left a set of car keys with key-less entry, a house key and a charm. on our counter about a month ago.  We thought for sure someone would come claim them.  If these are your keys ... we'd love to return them to you.

While we're talking about announcements ... We will be closed on Thanksgiving day, we will close early on Christmas Eve and be closed on Christmas day.

Can we just tell you how much we love the Holidays here at Knitted Together?  We always find treasure in taking time to Give Thanks, while experiencing peace and joy in our hearts (you know ... "peace on earth goodwill toward men").  Did you know that desiring to give the perfect gift is the natural response of our hearts to having been given the  greatest gift of all.  So we have decided to help you with your gift list.  In fact we have created the "Knitted Together Christmas Check List" with fifteen easy to knit items that can be accomplished between now and Christmas and are easy on the budget.  As an added bonus we have taken five of the fifteen items from the gift list (which we'll give you in the newsletter section) and we will focus on those five items for our Holiday Special Knit Together on Thursday evenings now through Christmas.  So be sure to read the details for the K-tog's in the section to follow.
Knit Togethers (K-Tog)
Are you looking for an opportunity to experience being part of a knitting group or club?  Do you want to learn new knitting techniques while making a fun project?  If you answered yes or if this just sounds interesting ... keep reading to find out more about our K-Togs.

K-Togs meet Tuesday or Thursday evening (your choice) and everyone knits the same project together with the help of an instructor.  This is not a class (you need to already know how to knit), there is no registration fee (just be sure to buy your supplies here at Knitted Together).  The people who join us for these events really have a good time while knitting a fun project and enjoying a sense of community.  You can always get more info on the EVENTS page at knittedtogether.com.

Join Patti on Tuesday evenings and knit the Cheadle Sweater, another great project from Rowan's Magazine #46 using Rowan's Cocoon (80% merino wool & 20% kid mohair).  This K-Tog will be for December and January, so you should have plenty of time to finish the project.

As we mentioned earlier, Nancy is hosting the "Holiday Special K-Tog" on Thursday evenings, through Christmas.  You could choose one or all of the five featured Christmas gifts to make for the special people on your list.  The five featured items for this special K-Tog are:
  1. The Pidge - for Mom
  2. Mini Ornaments - for the family
  3. Ribbed Mitts - for a teenager
  4. Felted Coasters - for a neighbor
  5. Cozy Roll Brim Hat - for a brother-in-law
You can view these items in the store ... the patterns are available with the purchase of the yarn.  So come and join us for a great time as we celebrate the Holidays.

Now for another edition of "more new yarn".  We know you love to see the new offerings and we love to show you.  So here is the newest of the mouth watering temptations.

Misti Alpaca TonosThis is Misti Alpaca Tonos Worsted.  The name says it all.  Misti is well known for their super soft yarn and amazing colors.  A 50% baby alpaca and 50% merino wool blend with tonal colors in a worsted weight ... WOW!

Classic Elite FrescoFresco from Classic Elite is a beautiful fine gauge yarn that is perfect for color work.  60% wool, 30% baby alpaca, and 10% angora.  This yarn will really show off your textured stitches and bless your hands with softness as it runs through your fingers.

St. Denis NordiqueSt Denis 100% wool yarn distributed by Classic Elite is lite sport weight that knits on 2.5 to size 6 needles.  To compliment a really nice yarn we have also added the magazine/pattern booklet.  Veronik Avery, commissioned by St Denis to do the design work, has done a sweet job of creating a compilation of works including:  hats, gloves, shawl, sweaters, vests and even dolls.

Malabrigo TwistMalibrigo Twist!  I'm not sure where to start ... I'm sitting here holding a skein of the Paris Night ... what a rich color and in 100% baby merino wool ... it's "pet-able".  No wonder it's going so fast ... don't worry there's more on the way.

We also wanted to let you know that Dream in Color, Classy (superwash merino) & Smooshy Sock (superwash Merino) will be here in a week or so.  Plus we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of new yarn from Knitting Fever by Mirasol.  This company has a great yarn and a great story about how they participate in "fair trade communities "and graciously give back to those communities to build schools and churches.  More on this when the yarns arrive.
Class Schedule
Just a reminder that our classes are pretty much over for the rest of the year.  As usual, we take a break from instruction during the Holidays and sometime after the first of the year we will start back up.  So  periodically check the calendar on the website for the class you're looking for as the list will begin to grow as we add them through the month of December.
Images ... having trouble viewing?
We would like to make a few comments on images.  If you are having trouble viewing this e-mail or if it doesn't look great ... you may need to add us to your safe sender list ... which will allow the images to download automatically.  Also, with the design and implementation of our web-store, the e-mail format and Nancy's blog, we have found that Mozilla Firefox web-browser seems to provide the most consistent viewing experience.  We tried to make everything compatible with as many browsers as possible ... but somethings will never be perfect ... these are just our suggestions.

We have also added a link at the top of the page to view our Web-Letter in a web browser.  This could be extremely helpful if you are like Tim and have Microsoft Outlook 2007 for your e-mail program.
Happy Thanksgiving & Merry Christmas!
This holiday season we hope that knitting has a way of helping you to slow down, relax and truly give thanks.  Give thanks for whatever it is you have ... reflecting has a way of highlighting that we have so much .  Now our hearts begin to be prepared to be gift givers ... created in the image of the greatest gift giver of all ... The Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!  Amen.

God bless,
from all of us at Knitted Together
