Greetings!
Wow, In like a lion.....Welcome to March! I love the madness that this time of year brings, the winds, the basketball, the blossoming of flowers and trees, and yes, the blooming of the renovations at the High Point Theatre. When you visit us next, the lobby and galleries should be finished, or nearly finished with phase one of our lobby, gallery and concession renovations. We hope you like the change, expect more when the 2012-13 season arrives! For now, be sure to come hear the amazing John Mayall on March 24th. This Blues/Rock master is as good as it gets. Mayall has played with many of the biggest names in Blues and Rock, and continues to serve as a mentor. April will be a very busy month here as we host the NC Body Building Championships, once again serve as the media center for the Int'l Home Furnishings Market, and host the International Buyers Lounge in our galleries. We will also have the one and only Kim Waters on Saxophone, and the soulful vocals of Maysa on April 28. I look forward to seeing you at the theatre! David Briggs, Director |

Iconic Blues-Rock Master John Mayall in Concert Saturday, March 24 - 8 PM
According to music critic Piero Scaruffi, the blues-rock genre was defined when John Mayall released his 1966 album Blues Breakers with Eric Clapton. Hard-edged, electric, fast-paced but still sublimely soulful, Mayall's brand of blues dug deep into its American roots even as it branched out in new directions. With skills honed to near perfection over a career that is now in its seventh decade, he is a powerful performer who can set the house on fire with his masterful guitar, harmonica, piano and organ riffs, as well as his raw yet refined singing style.

Kim Waters featuring Maysa - Coming Saturday, April 28 - 8 PM
Kim Waters is a multi-faceted jazz talent whose artistry ranges across the full-spectrum of contemporary jazz. A superior saxophonist, composer and producer, he has scored more than a dozen #1 radio hits, sold over a million albums and, at the same time, pushed the boundaries of his genre.
In addition to becoming a popular guest vocalist for many contemporary jazz musicians including Stevie Wonder and Chaka Khan, Maysa has recorded three commercially successful albums of her own, and showed her ability to put her own unique stamp on familiar songs from the 1970's era on several others.
Don't miss this unique opportunity to be a part of the "ultimate" jazz experience when Waters and Maysa appear together live on stage at the High Point Theatre for one night only!
