Issue No. 0212February 2012
Greetings!

Greetings patrons, and thank you for your continued support of the programming at the High Point Theatre.  You may have read recently that the Market Authority will be using our facility to serve as home for the International Buyers and Media Center for the upcoming market.  This is great news for HPT, as the collaboration between Market Authority and the City of High Point will allow for us to do some much needed updates and facelifts to the lobby and galleries.  We think you'll be pleased once the project is completed, but please pardon our mess while the work is being done.

As with many projects, it will occur in phases, the first will be a fresh coat of paint, refinishing the woodwork and doors, and work on new lighting and a gallery system for the venue.  We are excited about this work, and know it will ultimately enhance your event experience.

Next month I will fill you in on the entirety of the project, as well as give a sneak peek into the exciting events we are scheduling for next season!

In the meantime, I hope you will enjoy the amazing music by Mike Farris & the Roseland Rhythm Review, John Mayall live in concert, the spectacle that is the Peking Acrobats, and of course, enjoy our own High Point Community Theatre's production of Oliver.

See you at the Theatre!

Mike Farris & The Roseland Rhythm Revue, Live on Stage, February 18 - 8 PM

MikeFarrisDrawing from deep Southern-inspired gospel roots, Mike Farris will bring his own redemptive story of healing grace and hard-driving blues to Triad residents for a single live performance on Saturday evening, February 18.

Make no mistake, the story of Farris has nothing to do with the music of a worship band or a youth pastor writing songs. His is instead a much more personal story. Having once toured with Sheryl Crow, Dave Matthews Band, ZZ Top, the Allman Brothers and Stevie Ray Vaughn, he struggled with the temptations found in the bars and clubs he often played in. Recovering from an alcohol and chemical dependency, his is the inspiring story of a man working out his salvation with a guitar. Clean for two years now, he admits to simply trying to get through each new day still intactMike Farris QR Code
